Google's Nest Thermostat is a steal at $130
Google borrowed all of the basics from its previous thermostats for this new 130$ Nest thermostat, but is this reboot actually worth your money?
Let's find out this test.
Third thermostat and by far the least expensive of the bunch, but this model manage is to impress with its updated mirrored finish.
Streamlined sliding tap, touch controls and customizable settings.
All in the Google Home app out of the box you get only the basics, the thermostat itself and some mounting hardware.
This model is available in four color finishes snow, which unsurprisingly is white sand.
A beige Rosie gold color fog, a blueish greenish light Gray and charcoal, a dark Gray compatible trim.
Kids are sold separately for 1500$..
If you need to cover up old paint or holes from previous thermostats, the thermostat display shows the current ambient temperature near the thermostat.
Your preferred set temperature and.
Other minimal settings, but it isn't a touch display, which is kind of a good thing since it would get a ton of fingerprints very quickly instead of a simple touch display or that classic Nest thermostat dial you turn to make a selection.
This thermostat has simple touch controls on the right side of the thermostat.
Slide your finger to scroll through the settings and to adjust the temperature and tap to make a change.
It worked well for me in general, but I'm left handed so it was kind of awkward having to reach my arm across the thermostat to make my adjustments and.
Just as awkward trying to use my right hand, the new Nest Thermostat has built in temperature, humidity, motion, an ambient light sensors to track what's happening nearby, including whether you're home or away.
Tide to your phones location.
You also have the option of creating a custom schedule in the app to use less energy and save more money day today and to track how well you're doing overtime in the NRG Dashboard.
In the app it also works with Google Assistant, an Amazon if you want to use the voice command to adjust the temperature is especially useful with the Google Assistant smart speaker or displays since.
House in the same Google Home app.
Overall, I really like the new Nest thermostat and gave it an Editors Choice award because it's well priced.
It looks nice and it works well.
