Selling an old phone?
These tips will help you get the best price.
First up, make sure you're selling at the right time.
The resell market gets flooded with old models as soon as a new phone isn't out.
For example the value of a second hand iPhone drops by 10% in September and October according to data from buy back site, Next Worth.
This is generally the time when Apple announces new handsets.
Tools like eBay's smartphone tracker let you enter the make and model of your handset to get a price estimate.
You can either sell the phone yourself through eBay and the tracker helps you get the trending price or use the [UNKNOWN] service.
eBay will list and ship the phone for you.
Remember to shop around.
There are many sites like Gazelle, Swappa, Next Worth, or Sell My Cell that can all give you quote from the value of your phone.
And of course the better condition your phone is in the higher the price.
