[ Music ] ^M00:00:08 >> Brian Tong: A Cabbage Patch yeah a cabbage patch hey oh. Welcome to tap that app I'm Brian Tong and this is a show where we cover the hottest apps in the mobile space. Now this week we wanted to show you a whole new way to search on the android platform, it's called Gesture Search and it's absolutely free. Now when you launch the app you have a large blank space to work with and all you have to do is start drawing letters with your finger and it will start searching for contacts, bookmarks and apps on your phone. Now everyone's handwriting is different so it might think a B is a Y but keep on writing more letters because it will eliminate other options and for the most part you'll get what you're looking for. Now if you make a mistake just draw a horizontal line backwards to remove a letter written or draw a line forward to clear all of your writing and once you find what you're looking for you can launch the app or link that you found and if it finds the contact, press the phone icon and you will call them directly from the app. Now if you jump into the settings you can have the app search for songs in your music collection, or you can disable the other search categories. You can also set the writing speed that the app detects and I was able to get a little more accurate results setting it to fast but it really wasn't a significant difference. [ Background music ] This app isn't a game changer but gesture search is a free app and that's our favorite kind, it offers a new and unique way to search in the Android OS and it's a fun little tech demo to show off to your friends and we're telling you guys to tap it. Now if you have any suggestions for the future send them to Tap that App at CNET.com. I'm Brian Tong and we'll see you guys next week with little cabbage patch oh yeah oh cabbage patch. Now this app isn't a game changer but gesture search, gesture!
