GE's Cafe fridge brews hot K-Cup coffee in a flash
Kitchen & Household
Hey guys, this is Brian Bennett for CNet Appliances and right now, we're taking a first look at the brand new GE cafe refrigerator with the Keurig K-cup brewing system.
One of the most important features that sets it apart from other refrigerators is that it has the ability to dispense hot water and brew in a Keurig K-cup.
It uses a special module that attaches on the bottom, you simply put in your pod, press brew, wait for the water to heat up, and boom, you've got your hot cup of coffee, no mess no fuss no hassle.
So the ability to brew K-cups is not the only new and slick new feature in this fridge.
Essentially you'll have the ability to connect with a mobile application that'll allow you to take a look at what the fridge is doing remotely.
You can see what the temperature is.
And if in case the power goes out you'll be able to see if the internal temperature has dropped over that intervening period so you don't have to throw out your food if you don't need to

[INAUDIBLE] Another cool thing is, you'll be able to check up on the condition of the ice maker, and other internal components of the refrigerator.
The brand new GE Cafe Fridge, is also pretty expensive.
It'll cost $3,300.
That is certainly a big chunk of change to drop on a brand new refrigerator.
If you wanna get your hands on this new fridge you're gonna have to wait because GE says devices won't ship until the third quarter of 2015.
