Forget Curve screens, the next big phone fads maybe foldabes.
Rumor has it, LG Electronics will soon be making folding displays for Apple, Google, and Microsoft according to a report on Korean news site, Electronic Times.
Now, we've already seen a few prototypes of flexible and foldable displays From companies like Samsung, Lenovo, Oppo and LG but the real race seems to come down to Samsung and LG to see which of these companies can get them mass produced first and in the market.
Samsung has already been successful at mass producing curved OLED screens fourth line of Galaxy Edge phone and it's said to be manufacturing the curve screen on the next But that will all change in 2018.
That's when LG is set to roll out foldable displays for its partner.
Both Samsung and Apple have already patented similar foldable and flexible designs.
The phone would fold outward leaving the screen exposed on both sides and joined together with a hinge with flexible printed circuit boards.
And if this is true you may be better off skipping the curved OLED iPhone next year to start saving up for these guys.
