Small offices shopping for a doodle printer should pay attention to this all in one from Epson.
I'm Justin Yu, associate editor for CNET.com, this is your first look at the Epson Workforce 635 multifunction printer.
Epson continues to prove itself as the fastest printers in the market and this machine cannot only print, fax, and scan, but it also does it all in record time, beating up the competition in all of our document printing tests.
So aesthetically, the Workforce 630 can fit comfortably in
tight spaces thanks to its compact design and paper trays that all fold flush into the unit.
On the front, you get a 2½-inch LCD screen that you'll use to control the printer and scroll through your on-screen menus.
Just above the control panel, you get a fully functional scanner and a 4-ink cartridge bay underneath for separate black, cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges.
Individual cartridges are a sign of a cost saving printer since you don't have to replace the entire system every time a color runs out.
The 635 also bundles work friendly features like an
auto document feeder on top here for scanning stacks of paper and a built-in 802.11 bg wireless print server as well as an Ethernet port on the side that lets you connect multiple office computers via network.
Epson has a history of turning out really fast prints and the Workforce 635 is no different.
It dominated the 4 competitive printers we put it up against with the exception of the photo print speed test and even then it printed a pretty quick 1.3 full color photos per minute.
You can also rely on the 635 to deliver a
high quality professional document for your next client meeting or internal memo, and the internal driver settings lets you choose the best quality mode from simple text all the way up to best photo, but just keep in mind however that the best mode also uses the most ink so select the economic route if you want to save money.
We fully recommend the 635 for offices at work or at home and you can read all the details and the full review on cnet.com, but that's gonna do it for me.
