Ep. 1367: Holding on by an aglet

Culture
-- This Thursday December ninth when things. I believe the results I'm -- -- -- Hollywood I'm -- buzz out loud is cnet's podcast of indeterminate length that's episode thirteen 167. Against odd that. Wearing her it's happening is and we're in British and here -- that are being held together by a shoe lace and download. And not by anybody's fault here actually -- equivalent of -- gambling. A bomber yet despite the angle that -- holding on by a little actually we are pulled on my tablet I think that's going to be attacked him but that -- While holding. -- willing. And depending on a minute later matters the -- saturation. Let's get to the -- its tally was this -- okay you -- the Wiki -- war is actually turning into possibly like the craziest thing. It happened on the Internet in ages late yesterday we talked about the complete madness. That had become you know that the into the router situation now it's turning into I'm stealing this but I'm still. WWW. Three theory oh and -- hold an outline edit make it opens the world wide web war three world wide web -- three. But tactical abilities rate is that -- Humidity that's. -- -- got it okay here's what has happened yesterday when we talked last. Anonymous had launched an extended its operation payback from just now are dabbling in NPA. To attacking. Sites that -- currently not processing acute -- financials decently MasterCard. -- on Swedish credit card on there were also targeting a PayPal as well. And PayPal and dynamic PayPal was they said they were unaffected by him although it -- -- but they got they -- coverage native. But that regularly -- -- has -- nevertheless kept attacking bait David there apparently recruiting an army. Trying few to come up with people that can help with their -- -- attacked. But then on the other side FaceBook and Twitter have now suspended the operation payback attacks. Accounts because -- for -- that they are using them to recruit. More -- and continue their attack but then every time that they take out icann is a paid for operation payback and another one pops up in its place. Yes that what they do is gold chains like the name of operation payback to -- -- like quotations. In different places the Twitter account that they had. -- -- added a letter and the money because you can't stop you can't stop them they're going to spring up somewhere but what -- -- the reason why they take down their pages. Only with the violation of the terms of services is one of their conditions alleys and -- but it says. On the YouTube they can remove your page down in the -- if it's at the attack on an individual group. That's set up by an authorized individuals so their purpose was to commune. And obviously coordinate to take down the -- and that's my case but -- -- took them down clearly within their terms of service. Right now we absolutely make a mean it makes perfect sense that they have done it nevertheless that is bringing the raft of course -- to them to possibly we don't know actually can animate that can detect it but betterment. At some point I -- PayPal was down. As of the 12:10 AM Pacific on December ninth -- and like midnight last night at the Pacific time PayPal had been unreachable. But then they apparently reversed course. So PayPal had not only stop processing donations to acutely they had actually -- in their account. Now PayPal has decided to release the funds that were remaining in the account associated with which -- -- although I assume that there -- -- they're -- processing anymore. -- -- did the just and froze the town -- I think it -- summer prompt me around like 30000 dollars I was in there. -- though they've given back their funds they basically it came to the pressure. Right from. Not -- caving to pressure left and right on. That -- -- both direct howled in both directions great upgrade ultimately they just wanna be -- -- this I think that if they if they unfreeze the account given them and I think we're done. It's over -- -- -- doesn't -- apart from their blog post. They say PayPal or -- will release all remaining funds in the account to the foundation I was raising funds for we -- -- But the account will remain restricted. We understand that PayPal decision has become part of a broader story involving political legal and free speech debate surrounding Wiki -- activities. Of these concern factored into our decision. Then I'm sure they didn't. -- they didn't and all really Amazon is apparently unaffected by the pro -- -- -- attack. Meanwhile the media at the new web conference in a plan -- -- switch and frankly. -- that they -- that. If Patrick -- we have been finalized and the journalists at -- web though are starting to come to the defense of wickedly and saying that you know a lot of in the does. It's hard to say about giggling at the lakers will. People my gut -- However. Some tech mean much representatives from tech mean we -- and the Wall Street Journal Europe are all -- like look this is. This is unquestionably. A free speech issue and an issue of journalistic right. Now or they are they opposed to just how. Today outright say I don't know in this article if they were opposed to just Joseph Lieberman's. Actions that kind of call on companies to shut them down or where they they weren't opposed to the leaked to the documents but they were posted. The government's response to it. Exactly tech means Gabe Rivera said that I'm in some ways they they reaction from the US government and other government. Had already cast a shadow on the United States and its its upholding a free speech -- he also said. That Joe Lieberman. Suggest it was suggesting that the New York Times itself could become a target in addition to acutely than everybody who supports -- because of the publication of some of the cable when he said Rivera said. It underscores that there's really no essential difference. Between what Wiki -- is doing and what the New York Times. And let's see who -- -- he has -- Shabazz said we have to speak about what's happening am amazed by the sounds of the traditional media this is a systemic attack. We have to explain to the traditional media because the stakes are about pre pre -- With -- thing about the traditional media those initially when. The whole Wiki -- story broke they're only about four outlets that were willing to release the documents they also -- and -- it wasn't. Not every mainstream media outlet jump on this because they were kind of worried or unsure. Like we were like how many secret should actually be released exactly and ending the -- all Hadley we have a similar -- a source client you know what you like like that's not a lot of -- independently Apple waited again it's a creepy now and then as the situation -- -- and now that the way that the government handle it. Now these media outlets although they might have wanted to stay away from -- -- initially now they're kind of begin to sound like okay this -- become bigger than even just -- in of the documents right. Also and ultimately allowed only that's a lot of leakage. If you wanna -- which it leaked cables if you're kinda curious about those apparently an as some enterprising Amazon trader has taken the 5000 cable. Package them up. And even outselling them. At Amazon they are available at the UK Kindle bookstore. They're currently rated one star out of five -- in the Amazon users apparently don't think that's very -- mostly because uses an angry at the -- for charging a -- Or -- -- via -- information but also because of Amazon's stance when deciding to remove the hosting of the website so they're saying like like. -- pay Amazon you took it down now this jerk comes along a lot charge me like eight pounds which is at according to current. But the ninety dollars and -- And now companies on the things that make that -- state -- and. Well -- thing is also Amazon technically would profit from the sales of the book as well yeah. Not that it's selling in the tens of thousands or anything like that but that's the whole the bottom line is that their system when you submit a book into Amazon. They're not gonna be able to capture at -- -- that there's so much content flowing in there and then once it becomes an issue than -- going to be there I would assume they're gonna be taken -- down -- -- -- -- -- down at -- Article doesn't and say that it was taken down yet. -- can limit Soviet actually and then finally analyst -- -- it just goes on and on Daniel Ellsberg apparently the man who leaked it pentagon papers to the news media during the Vietnam War also. Wrote an op Ed and said. He was in favor of Wiki -- release of the cables he said this is absolutely free speech issue and he noted. That the government had done many of the same thing. When he first release those papers. With kind of just it was kind of an interesting response that -- a similar comparison. And he said let's -- The current attempt to label Wiki -- Leaks as trivial compared to the Pentagon papers is wrong. And then he said it's you know saying that the Pentagon papers were good but we -- leaked material is bad is quote he said. Just a cover for people who don't want to admit. That they oppose any and all exposure even the most misguided secretive foreign policy and the truth is that every attack now made -- mechanics and Julius on. But made against -- in the release of the Pentagon papers at the time. -- -- It's crazy. It is. Crazy a thought -- -- think about those botnets just -- missiles back in part is getting as terrible get out of the way of getting pretty scary yeah I don't act -- those -- I think -- cable break -- right. Let's -- -- when we come back. We're gonna talk about the FCC considering you pay -- go Internet plan. In. Whatever practically inviting you to join us for the 2010 edition of cnet's holiday help desk that happens every Monday at 1 PM Pacific 4 PM eastern starting November 22. It's where we make you look like a brilliant tech gift -- as we take your live calls and we feel your emails and -- When you send us an email right now to holiday helped -- at cnet.com and along with the rest of cnet's editors will point you to the right product at the right right. Holiday help desk Mondays at 1 PM Pacific time starting November -- seconds at cnet.com slash life. Looking back the buzz -- everybody we're talking -- -- Internet plans which. We all probably out through about the FCC is approving or potentially will be -- a provision inside of their net neutrality guidelines. That would allow companies to potentially bill customers for how much they surf the web essentially. Tearing it with taps in different parts of if you go to certain point where neither socket connection or if you want more in them more would typically need a lot of these. Video streaming services that we use all the time they would end up charging you more for that they have the ability to. Yet it would if sort of like a way that cellphone providers offer tiered data plans and and there are it would be extending that kind of wireless model. Q broadband. Unfortunately though public interest groups say look this is just gonna lead to an increasingly large gap in Internet use in which obviously. Rich people can afford more Internet they say you know the online video industry is probably the biggest. The fastest growing market of Internet content delivery and get -- -- If if it becomes a pay as you -- situation and rich people only and only rich people would be able to afford the kind of Internet delivery plans that would include online video unless of course. You're getting your online video from your cable and satellite TV providers which -- ultimate diet. They'll think about it is a little -- gets a little confusing they're afraid trying to break it down pretty now. The thing about that is a -- member even when AT&T -- in their plans over from like all you need. Today you could either be grandfathered into them or they set different tiers whether it was like. I think it was like tutor Judy megs of usage more than two gigs globally there are different price points the thing about this here with. Big cable is that initially. At least what they are -- always -- time I would that he -- And guidelines that they were gonna proposes that. -- -- broadband landline cables. We're not gonna be tiered and this is a -- in provision that still opens the door for that to happen -- you know prioritizing basically. What traffic comes through you're gonna show you know prior if you pay more that -- give priority to high video. Bandwidth services. And as with everything it is obviously a -- Area right because so for example -- aero for that from the and PTA national cable and telecommunications is the association says look. If we had a usage based pricing model whimper for example he might have way lower prices you know what I call -- that people who don't use -- and yet the name that might actually spur adoption. And and sort of close the digital divide a little bit. And then on the other hand though there's the possibility that if you. If you shut people out of like tiers of Internet service that actually deliver content. To an acceptable level then you only increase it mean there there are certainly a lot of debate about it what the FCC is saying it's like look. We understand that it has that we -- it has the potential to do lot of harm we want to be the cop on the beat an epic FCC official said. We would be a cop on the beat for arbitrary anti consumer or anti competitive tiered pricing plan. So the FCC is trying to strike a balance right they like okay you have threatening because. We may be getting the point now where it isn't realistic to just the thing that really cannot flat rate all you can meet broadband connections even though we wanted and we should have it. Are not where we should have adding that argued adding that from the start yet like we are. The US is behind like we are behind in infrastructure. -- behind in infrastructure because of a lack of competition -- you know because of of both our government regulation. Rules and and we should be in a better position and the way to get -- -- that better position is not too -- restrict. The the healing power of the Internet. One of the one of the reasons that you know their -- worried about changes that. Explosive data growth not only in the cell -- side with Smartphones but even on the brand but -- -- I would Netflix video streaming -- things of that nature. Their their infrastructure was not ready to handle the leap like in a year. It's exploded and they just their systems -- -- and now they're they're putting out -- us via the basically help them but it's not. We're just using the tools available for us and they're the ones that are trying to charges because they're not -- they were ready for it. And they shouldn't speculative right exactly like they didn't invest properly in their protection they should have been and then there's there's the -- and avoidable. Situation the unavoidable fact that they are in the same business that they would potentially prevent with tiered usage or usage based pricing -- they would potentially prevent. Online video streaming while they want to offer online video streaming I just -- it. He doesn't make sense there's no way that -- you those are the people you -- think that is the ultimate fox in charge of the -- situation you know invest -- your infrastructure don't. Don't limit the roll out of the technology in the pot this is like this would literally stop down. On the -- of the technological possibility of cutting the cord of receiving so much video online and and they. Basically should have seen it coming -- -- invested -- of money and. Ultimately for us you know with the whole iPad data change situation or data usage people were really mad about it first but -- actually you really don't care about anymore because people realized hey that's. Keynote two gigs or -- some iPhone is actually pretty much. Most people don't even use -- -- so I. Yet not yet now we know that no you can use your LT data cap and thirty -- -- -- -- -- Play -- -- -- -- actually the exact same issue which is that the -- the Internet allowance you know your broadband allowances. Are not keeping up with the broadband that you want to consume and then they're kind of thing like you're the big -- the public. Out. I'm gonna have to have faith that they -- at the right away the tons of faith -- contest don't you. This of the -- why don't you. The FCC is also trying to stand up for those sports fans who don't wanna be missing out on their baseball games while fox and the cable visionary and a BF half of the eight Jeff. The big huge fight about carriage agreements they are hoping. They will propose new rules that would give them more clout to play referee between these high profile and -- -- -- Yes that we had this situation during the playoffs where during the immediately before play elsewhere for route fifteen days because of battle -- I'm. Comcast and fox but I believe it was a Comcast and -- -- Cablevision Cablevision and box. People were trying to figure out where they could go they would call the cable operator and cable operators and well here -- go to these. -- legal website that are streaming and in game has to go check him out because we're waiting to make the deal and so now that CC wants to be able. There has to be some sort of mediating here ultimately right no one's gonna win when they shut down the services there I would I least like seasons -- provision that allows the service to stay intact while they. Mediate and deliberate ray but clearly that's required -- requires them into -- consumers. Are paying for that. Or some sort of find situation where like it you'd you know Cablevision -- fox don't come up with a real -- money for the service that they paid aria. That they need to be -- there needs to be some sort of arbitration but it's unclear whether that -- he would be able to pull that off I -- they would have to it's not a particularly friendly environment for that. And they would it would be a pretty major change have been a pretty major government intervention. I like this there's a quote -- from the FCC's media bureau would then. As the African thing goes -- the elephants fight it's the grass but suffers we other grass could -- where their autograph. Now switch and over transitioning over to little mobile phone -- Google has act is activity currently 300000 phones. Every day. Putting them on par basically with what Nokia's Symbian phones and they've done this in basically two years -- starting from zero activation. All the way to 300000. It doesn't look like they're stopping any real banana that all things. 172 Android phones worldwide. That number is going to continue to rise yet. Tonight's the growth of the -- is explosive. -- unbelievable and also think about like okay yes that is happening to you think about just the last eleven month. In January the rate of activation with 60000. Saturday the rate of growth has increased five fold but. In just the last eleven -- like Nokia and Symbian should definitely. Be haven't -- Yeah they should -- it would even them Android overtook Nokia Symbian platform and Australia -- Google where dominated. Google's closing in on ten million phones. Per month. Apple does -- its biggest quarter ever selling fourteen point one million iPhone. In a quarter. I mean it's. You know this is what happens obviously when they have way more -- -- hecklers and react on but. It's but it's also like the adoption is discontinuing direct and clearly consumers. Aren't nearly as intimidate about the Android OS that they might have been before -- and you're like year one. -- -- -- like not that your iPhone still really simple for me. But now that they see a little bit more flexibility in things that they wanna do and it's obviously available on other carriers at -- jumping. Yeah I mean can either -- in New Zealand to phone the minute thirtieth to be like Iraq anything -- until have a Motorola last and you didn't care rate they now you -- and and there's just a bunch of -- -- they can all do cool things nearly one of the pandora like a half ago you know. Interesting story in the New York Times say actually about the nonprofit world apparently spewing. Over a band that Apple has played on making donations. Via charity apps on your phone so if you have like a charity app on your phone. And you want to donate to that particular cause he can't do it from within the app he actually you click and and it takes -- out. To their adult website which then you have to probably clicked -- like a bunch of different windows to gain access and and. And the donation and it's -- cumbersome and lesbian -- it's impossible that yes it's kind of impossible to do that on Apple. You might as well as go to your computer at the -- -- -- -- got a billion -- everywhere and blah blah blah blah blah. And so there has now there's a big protest. Let's see -- Kantor has co author of the network's nonprofit apparently she has. 366000. Followers on Twitter and she treated that she was replacing -- iPhone. With an Android phone because of this and -- also started an online petition. Saying basically that like. Apple's the greens and village who -- -- Doesn't have to figure mean when mr. jobs. C studio -- -- want to miss that jobs and that he also said though she she outright said okay I can kind of understand that. In my present challenges -- Apple because they don't wanna become a payment process. You know vehicle would do is really more what PayPal is but at the same time they are independently but then and you know for their own stuff exactly they'll get 30% of a cut of every transaction that -- through their store. What is donations. -- -- couldn't they just make an exception and I don't think that. A lesson for example gambling -- around right now but when on the day Haiti crisis happen. And they they were able you're able to do donations through Apple's store -- -- -- they went directly to the Red Cross so clearly. They can do it -- clearly they could flip the switch to make it happen. EBay's PayPal unit has a donation feature that's handled by a company called mission fish which helps nonprofits raise money on -- they had all the administrative chores. And they launched that and then two months later Apple demanded that PayPal eliminate the donation system from -- that even though Apple is not in the position of -- having to handle those administrative details and become. Basically the intermediary -- fish was doing it they still. Asked PayPal to stop accepting donations via an app and they think -- decline so far to explain the rationale. An Apple spokeswoman Judy Miller it would only say we are proud to have many applications on our apps or -- that -- -- donations via their website they are like really. -- you said in response to like why don't you let people okay. Q but did to people like this in the real world -- how let people donate make donations through their apps we are proud to have many applications on our. Door which takes up charitable donation and via their website this. It was copy edited by -- own PR like you know their formula powder it it actually did not answer -- even answer the question that's an elegant from Iowa a well I guess okay you're right. Treaty thanks for that I'll wait for the Steve Jobs email. All right now they said let me have about a thousand -- 600 signatures. Trying to petition. And to get. Paid -- 7700. Were able to take down another -- clearly 7700. Could bring payment to charities through Apple's store. By the -- a spokesman for PayPal that they're just about to introduce a donation feature. For their Internet that'll make it settlement of -- for Android though they go for Android. You want to so there's a real quick -- lucky lefty gave -- a -- right here and there's breaking news about on days distressed and a sixteen year old in the Netherlands. In relation to taking down MasterCard and PayPal. Really -- that link in the chat reference -- -- an agreement with the F. A sixteen year old and of course threat to the latest report -- they're totally recruiting people are just cannot liking about their summer break. Let's see them coming to us from CNN. -- The computer hackers have shifted targets from Amazon to PayPal at least one person it sounds like has been arrested the sixteen year old in The Hague. Prosecutors that he did confessed to attack on the web sites. The prosecutor's office said. Shockingly. Is probably part of a larger group of hackers who are under continued investigation. He is the only line Hampshire does genius -- -- -- kids. The kidney can't -- today go to jail and that there is a smart threatens to add some it is that we could certainly not an. They admitted that all the the other is being of course that there after they've they've moved on from Amazon and now that -- -- the -- -- to PayPal. Now I've advocated -- a few things that are not -- was him it was at that in the. I move -- not a bad news for. Microsoft. It sounds like the Windows 7 tablet. What is -- six months after I think -- column saying where are all iPod competitors would. Windows -- tablet still are not gonna make it out time for the holiday. Steve Ballmer promised -- would be here by Christmas but so weird that telling I'm not gonna have a HP's slate and imagery will and that we were talking about this in the. Should they they showed off the HP slate at CES. At CES up and you know what they saw the iPad in every we know that all the manufacturers freaked out. And then they said okay we need to go back to the drawing board and come with something more compelling but it's been a year -- basically been a year Microsoft represented. It says the that the HP Windows 7 based slate 500 isn't -- we are proud to be -- the UHP's slate read. -- our wonderful hello -- of and send that information he points out surely bomber was not referring to the 800 dollar device in aimed at insurance adjusters and healthcare workers. When he conjured visions of elves boxing up Microsoft powered -- for airborne distribution and two boys girls and he threatened wasn't that the slate that they had more pre orders -- titles like initially at 9000 data. And then it went up to like the 101000 -- like -- so much more which has just with that -- and that was the one that was just like. The insurance adjusters like it meant to be nearly as a tablet enterprise tablet -- there is in fact hit a market for tablet like it can I am just as punished. That no one has managed to -- public eye opener on -- look at what it when there are actual options at this point there's iPad which you don't wanna buy that had to -- -- -- and -- trust me. May I -- and I -- -- you're just gonna be mad. There's galaxy tab which is you know which is a -- sold a million even though it's really not all the way Bates yeah shows that there is demand for tablet. And there's that crappy 99 dollar while green mile long that the male model with all I got dvds to you what you gotta watch out about -- -- mainland compete. Just. Against pulled up -- -- on an -- and it is also other notable Barnes & Noble have. You gotta kinda thing you can edit color that basically the best Android tablet and pocket right now but then on me -- The bigger picture when you look at Microsoft okay the policies and is the biggest season or for selling protect them it's the hottest -- They don't have a tablet -- windows phone seven launch. Is been lukewarm and but -- don't statin talk about sales numbers. Through even the Black Friday period -- which typically you hear a lot of good news positive news from tech companies the only product that Microsoft has the policies of -- is connect. But that's even sold out netbooks retailers -- the biggest and it's not it's not even a device that stands alone you have to buy an Xbox or have an Xbox. Tank to get it can accelerate now the only way to get is like a foreigner Alan -- and so Microsoft -- -- Microsoft gonna feel little pain this holiday season like they don't have. A go to -- no -- get. No one better be by -- Microsoft Office or Windows 7. I'd put it under the tree that's all -- -- and I will punch you if you do that it didn't it. Not for you movements. And I let -- -- and to the cricket. Hardware makers have come together in a rare show of unanimity to sign the death warrants. Or VGA. -- -- Intel AMD Dell Lenovo Samsung and LG have made an industry spanning agreement to phase out VGA entirely. By Tony fifteen -- standardize solely on HDMI. And display port. The end of a narrow the big clunky adapter. -- the little annoying things that era. Apple is like -- we stop supporting -- like ten years ago we just put it on there. Probably a display port good idea that it. Also Apple is losing its iPhone -- the game guru. -- -- he joined their iPhone games technology division and basically -- has exploded on the iPhone Apple even as a company in their DNA. Just wasn't known for gaming on their desktop platform. But he is leaving to go into the development. So that he can actually -- make a lot more money developing. The game for the iPhone platform. But they really credit him for helping this to -- development also getting robust games and having -- technologies. Work with the right eight guys -- wants to make it a legitimate gaming platforms and clearly the PSP in the -- their numbers are shrinking and everyone's going to mobile gaming not only an iPhone but on the Android platform as well. They connect totally it's like Lego robots tens of billion them. Best hope acting gadget ever. Seen it for him lying. -- -- flying to enact the week. You may even sweeter yeah this next little chunk of science news -- news. This story -- -- are all day all day don't you read the headline you -- -- here's the headline. But the area. Giant start may have -- on real life Hobbits. The vote based. And there of. Fossil remains of a hot eel like species and human discovered and McCain in the Indonesian island of Florence where these giant storks. Existed and inhabited. And they said that because -- -- for so large they're also means the start themselves were never found to have any slash marks are cut marks showing that -- these. Small audit like guys would be hunting them are killing them in fact know it looks like it potentially does your. Let's kill me potentially could have an historic -- but it and then here's the -- had. Bones of small humans and giant birds -- together filled chilling tale. Giant starts may have ban on real iPod but -- they that -- dark. We're like a six foot tall wrapped -- The can fly -- state predator that could have that -- -- lizards and birds and possibly in principle. Even small juvenile Hobbits -- -- than them. Although we have no evidence of that -- -- laterally and -- and while I was that buried like. Here's the six paragraph after we got excited than they said we have no evidence of that why wouldn't you variant. Giant starts may have fed on real iPod it -- me how I'm just saying wow they may have. And that's that the story today -- really care -- for enough. It is awesome I threw them -- happy endings -- it. It's the feel good story of the day billionaires. Promising to give away at least half of their fortunes. Them some time. With -- ahead of time. At and one would like they know when they're gonna die it NRA has had exactly I'll get that next year all -- -- I've forgotten about that in my Lil I guess that's. -- -- -- any of them and he did. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- They have signed a Philanthropic campaign led by Bill Gates. And celebrity investor Warren -- it's called the giving pledged and it's basically kind of a moral commitment. That the and that at some point you'll get way more than half your -- and if -- think of when I am. First started in the journalism world I've worked in Seattle and it was in 98 right -- like for associated press and it was a big story. That Bill Gates did not believe that you should give your that you should leave money -- -- -- You have any kids and he -- with Melinda she's like -- he was not Philanthropic at all mean that -- earlier it is right. In earlier -- he was not Philanthropic he didn't think -- -- money to your kids. He was kind of -- -- rallying -- money. And then you'd spend it in your lifetime but it was not that she's really -- I think has turned him into such a bit like an unbelievable ridiculous. The lack of Earthlink he is doing. An amazing amount of point eight billion dollars to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that -- now there are now 57. Billionaires who have. Providence can. Vaguely to sometime. Give away half their money. Which is great again if they do that. I mean backward to go to -- credit yet this is the guy who donate a hundred million dollars to develop a public schools to miniature -- -- He really does seem to be on that -- you really does -- he can do good with his money and you know for -- has. Whatever his other flaws may be mainly just awkwardness on TV and are violating your privacy and I greatly is. Doing good things -- -- money that that for him. Feel good story. Another feel good story if you guys are myth buster and you might be able to get a sneak -- of President Obama. Recently -- -- little episode. He's kind of like in the B Guinean Andy and in the little parts but on. I guess if you really like the bombing you like geeky stuff you can go watch Mythbusters. That's how crazy like but -- -- -- -- like that again so like that and it's it's it is testament to the fact that he has been -- talked a lot about being committed to science education. And so then he's saying. I'm so committed a crime -- -- and on going -- clusters. Although wired points out it plays a little bit of a gimmick because spoiler alert -- you don't wanna know have been. He appears only at the beginning and the end of the episode amended certain segment of the -- -- that are obvious that it's like a cameo in a movie who like. The diesel at the in the past that the area to Tokyo -- anything it's mainly just super bad -- permit -- -- -- Good story got. -- -- IR at six. For the near earth. For the -- now all you know. While it's not gonna be here tomorrow Patrick. I'm taking ending that we said we have a little computer -- segment of them on the two of them have another day in the student -- that's little we figured we just like to cannot. That's right we're -- -- extra special. Computer -- -- All right so we got a -- did receiving emails messages from you guys. You're limited hardy student let me -- -- of it it's awesome now we're here to help you guys like seriously genuinely. We want to help you guys give advice. Find love whatever however way you may find it so when it's up to this Christmas is -- from Chris. Any access to be using Craigslist for -- and happen to meet someone who isn't a spam bot than what are some tips to make sure nothing shady is going on for example. My -- is gonna gets -- my gonna end up getting charged for services. But anything -- got out his that I would lower the price but I recently met a girl and a had a nice for state but I can't help feeling paranoid. The Chris here's our two cents. First of all you actually met the girl and I can guarantee she's probably. What twice or three times scared yeah to meet you refer to learn all she's wondering in not only at least Gilbert skinny she's going what you're gonna do to her to self. I think that's a good sign. -- -- I don't think there's a reason to feel -- going. And they know I would happen just make sure you meet in public places Yang -- budget time Starbucks and don't ignore any warning signs. Don't ignore oh -- -- give you got any morning planet all that you know I would and also order under. Her web -- order under it. That's a good point by Chris how the solar itself created this. Play it cool to be yourself you'll be alright that immunity and it you know I'm lucky in agreement a lot of people mean on the Internet I had plenty Hellblazer Hannibal -- attendance -- how long do you -- to make your move. After someone turns their faith but status -- Bingo a gas today can contribute and I love that RA Hannibal clearly honestly if old woman. On FaceBook is already. Publicly proclaiming that she's gonna change it -- single he wants guys become like he's open. Communicate via -- you wouldn't make that publicly known if you did it. Now with -- you know as though. On face that's like a double -- -- -- like -- your it is like I mean you're broadcasting right thing to the world like I'm -- however. Again don't ignore any warnings -- because a lot of times like it wouldn't you know when you're in your angry immediate post break -- stage or whatever you'd like. I think it's going out there and edited it and it does not mean she is emotionally ready -- like. But if -- -- looking for someone that's emotionally ready that's a relative. Happy holidays our last Salina. From -- -- -- group makes offered a menu girl our friends on FaceBook. A new girl and -- -- for about six months but he just recently changed her status. Reflected and only play the -- scheme basically game too exciting even realize until the act's text and the next morning. So I guess you all are now official. Why is basements as the be all and though all relationships in 2010 -- the -- -- -- -- about dating and I talked to her about it. It does is bad news that is not a good idea that -- -- the current our friends on it but who will that was your fault for again in the same pond. It out but it's interesting that she changed her FaceBook status Q in -- relationship and he didn't know what's gonna happen like actually -- in this modern aids. You have talked about but that happens a lot in happens a lot we're slowly -- the first jump in the never like whoa whoa whoa and the one -- the other -- like and it tripped out. I think the -- -- a whole other level of etiquette now it's like -- change your status to their member a friend of mine started dating union guy and he changed his status. And cheating to interest currently several months later and -- affiliate like you know I don't think the north valley of the tune into it -- ultimately can begin even though they're friends. Technically you shouldn't be talking to your -- and -- the same time. What is technically. I got it and -- friends of the I don't know I think friends relaxes but right now. If you're if she's already feeling a comfortable that it now and it still fresh what it's only six months. That's the I mean people take a -- Canon has really -- like you should you should at least give a little space. So that's the new girl who's friends with your -- doesn't feel like threatened are we doubt about -- -- new -- and -- -- -- Where you now like hey I might be easier for everyone to view and I don't know the new -- movement about the Mac. -- -- -- -- wasn't my friend who moved here a and then she's changed her status that I -- -- -- but he might they might even -- the portable than the current. -- -- -- run run away either way if -- you know it honestly also -- if you're not even over your -- maybe the issue right there. Couple of days ago. Lot of issues okay I know some quality in the like dude I just turn -- -- I am well and is combative lot of -- computer love it is once a week people values and -- but I'm not -- -- -- -- and we had a tired today. If you would like to respond though to the computer that email in the comments he can -- -- letter blog -- -- that cnet.com give us here. Computer eleven but it's confusing world that -- -- is this the -- love -- -- it is an email -- future computer -- questions or comments about whatever else you like but that cnet.com we're not ignoring them we're just you know it and that they have bird in the and then give -- a colony under thick and -- 2638. The NET. CN ET if you want to -- your computer loved it questions -- -- and -- -- -- I am Molly -- when word. -- -- -- -- -- Hash -- your computer -- -- find -- -- -- the hashed out yet yes totally and -- three bmg via. Net and that Donald will be in the house tomorrow not -- in the house tomorrow I'm perfectly. -- --
