DuPont tries to burn a flame resistant suit and it is glorious

[MUSIC] Hey, CNET, what's up. This is [UNKNOWN] and I'm here at the Du Pont [UNKNOWN] in Singapore to check out my new BFF Thermo-Man. Now [UNKNOWN] is not much of a talker. He can be quite a dummy, but I heard he's smoking hot, so let's check it out. DuPont's Thermo-Man is basically a mannequin equipped with 122 heat sensors used for evaluating thermal burn injuries. [MUSIC] Garments are exposed to a fuel fire with temperatures ranging up to 1,600 degrees fahrenheit. This testing facility in Singapore is the fifth in the world, and the first in the Asia Pacific region. As you can see, the cotton garment isn't very protective, and your body will suffer about- [INAUDIBLE] In fact the cotton garment is basically effort. Nomex is a play with just some material made by DuPont's that's used by firefighters as well as [INAUDIBLE] industries that depend on some of protection to keep them safe. In this slow motion footage you can basically see just how [INAUDIBLE] even after it has been burnt for 23 seconds Your chances of surviving a fire are a heck a lot higher, that's for sure. [MUSIC] As you can see, even the closest inner garments have Have survived intact. So if you're wondering how to walk away almost unscathed from an explosion, well, make sure you're wearing the right gear. [MUSIC]
