We're here in the 2016 Mazda Miata, let's talk about the tech.
The first and most obvious thing is that we both have touch screen functionality as well as physical switch gear down below.
It's only a matter of which way you like to manipulate your menus, you can get it done.
The main screen on the [INAUDIBLE] system,which is where most of the tech lies in this car gives you 5 different options.
We'll start with the first, applications.
Applications are pretty straight forward, there is no [INAUDIBLE] activity in this car so you don't get to download anything extra, you're stuck with the four that you have here, you have HD radio traffic which uses the HD radio [INAUDIBLE] pull up traffic data You have a fuel economy monitor, if that's what you're into in a sports car.
And a maintenance and warning guide that allows you to keep up on your oil changes, and make sure you keep track of those tire pressure warning lights.
The second tile on the Miata's home screen is Entertainment.
That's where you're able to access all of your audio sources.
You can select from FM, AM, XM.
And a multitude of online radio sources including aha, Pandora, Stitcher.
You also get bluetooth connectivity and USB both of which are located right underneath the radio.
The third [UNKNOWN] home screen is communication.
That's where you access your phone, pretty straight forward you get to look at Favorites, Contacts, Call History and you even get a manual dial pad that works with touch screen.
Some touch screens [UNKNOWN] Mazda's is spot on every time.
Next, we'll look at Mazda's navigation screen.
It's relatively straightforward.
You can select from 2D and 3D views.
You can search for nearby points of interest, or if you're willing to cut to the chase, you can just pop in your address and go from there.
Now, while the Mazda screen is excellent and responsive, it does not support smartphone style pinch and zoom.
So in the event you're looking for that, you're gonna be Fiddling with this for quite a while, not doing anything.
Finally, we have Settings.
You can adjust your display, your sound, change the time, and check your various safety systems, pretty straightforward.
As for connectivity, you get two USB ports and one AUX port up front.
Sadly, the USB ports don't charge very fast, so hopefully you bring a little bit of battery with you when you come in.
If you're looking for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay Nope, nothing here.
