Cricket TXTM8 3G (Cricket Wireless)
-I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for cnet.com, and this is a first look at the Cricket TXTM8 3G for Cricket Wireless.
This is an updated version of the TXTM8 messaging phone.
It is a slate-style design here and, of course, one of its new features is the introduction of 3G support.
On the front here is a pretty nice looking screen, nothing great, but it's pretty serviceable for a basic phone like this.
On the side here, you do get a little widget bar of sorts.
You can scroll through them to go through different services like news feeds, the weather and more.
Because it is a slate-style messaging phone, you get a very simple, full QWERTY keyboard underneath the navigation array.
It's a little small for our taste, but the keys are raised above the surface, so we could still text pretty easily.
Features of the TXTM8 3G are pretty basic.
You do get the usual text and multimedia messaging, of course.
You also get mobile e-mail support.
There's also a very simple Polaris web browser.
You also get stereo bluetooth and GPS.
The Cricket TXTM8 3G is available for $59.99 from Cricket Wireless.
