-What's going on everyone?
I'm Jeff Bakalar from the 404 Show.
I'm here at Comic-Con 2013 by myself, but nevertheless, I'm gonna check out some of these cosplayers.
If you remember last year, we interviewed dozens of people who waste all kinds of time getting dressed
for the big show.
So let's go interview some of these dedicated folk and see what's going on as we enter the show floor of Comic-Con 2013.
So, how's it going?
-You know, Comic-Con has been going pretty good.
It's a little hot out here, but I'm enjoying the scenery abound town San Diego.
-Yeah, my god, he does that really well, dude.
You're licking the lips and all that-- just something I like-- this is really, really nice.
You did a great job.
What's you're-- like, who's your tailor.
poor guy in Singapore, I guess.
-So, what was that?
-I like turtles.
-Wow, you do that really well, man.
So, what's up with the-- with the get up?
Where did you get this mask?
Check out Andrew Freeman's Immortal Masks.
Silicone Mask, high-quality.
-Yeah, so it lets you breathe.
Well, you're doing like the chewing thing, you got that down real nice.
-[unk] your face good is the make-up process.
So ,let me see the back, 'cause you got like a thing of shredder here.
Look at that.
I want you for the foot.
That is so ragged--
right on and he's got a little shurtle tell-- shurtle-- turtle shells on his vest there.
You're looking tight man.
-Don't make me use these.
Yeah-- I don't with those fingers you can pull the pin on them.
I'm not sure about that.
All right, we're here with-- what's your name?
You're an [unk] character.
-Oh, you want me to [unk]--
-Well, I mean, you gotta go 110 percent here.
-I'm so honest I'm Canadian.
It's all my fault.
There's nothing wrong with-- there's nothing with being Canadian.
I love Canada.
-Yeah, where in Canada are you from?
-No, where's Wonder Woman from?
Look at this little dude.
This guy is in his own MC.
Look at this.
Oh my god, come back a little dog.
Oh, it's Ron Perlman.
Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
Look at this.
It's Leeloo and Korben.
-Tell me more about the whole Fifth Element thing.
I just-- Fifth Element's like my favorite movie ever.
-Oh, of course it is.
-You guys-- do you guys like it or is it just a coincidence?
-A huge fan is-- feel like it hasn't been done in a while--
-so, we wanted to a little bit more original.
-We wanna put you back.
-For sure, dude.
-[unk] the end.
-Dude, I'm not gonna lie man.
You kinda look like Bruce Willis a little bit.
-Thank you, thank you.
-Like a-- that's a compliment.
He's a sexy man.
-I think so.
-Yeah, for sure.
So, are you guys like a couple?
-Yeah, we're married.
-You guys are married?
-This is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
-You guys are killing me.
So, we're here with--
Is that a real character?
-Yeah, it's a real name, real character--
-So, you and like Thor hate each other?
He's my brother.
We have a complicated relationship.
-Can you tell-- can you tell me a little bit about that relationship?
-Well, I'm adopted.
-So, you know, that always causes trouble.
in the shadow of your blonde, beautiful, brother--
-Tell me about it.
-wait I'm getting-- it's a little hot.
-I mean, I am adopted, so--
No, that's under-- that's totally understandable.
So, your costume is very detailed.
The whole thing-- tell me how that came be to like, what was the process like?
-This is my first time to making a costume.
So, this is--
-It doesn't look like the first time.
-I taught myself to make scale mail.
-You're allowed to look.
So, [unk] okay,
yeah, scale mail.
That's what the--
-This is what's this is called--
-It's a-- it's an ancient technique where you weave metal, little scales.
-What-- it's like-- it's like-- what the hell was that from Lord of the Rings-- like Mithril, right?
-Yeah, a little bit.
-Yeah, right on, okay.
-So, if I get shoot-- shot with an arrow in this area--
-I'll be okay.
-Right, but the second they go for your neck--
-Anywhere else, I'm done.
-you're in bad shape, right.
-Okay, what the hell's going on right here like?
-Even I'm not too sure, but I'm riding a dinosaur.
-Well that's clear.
So, I like that,
-Yeah, it's a raptor, but I think it's female.
-Okay, so, we'll call it-- call her Beverly, how's that one?
-Okay, I like it, yeah, Beverly.
-Make Beverly say something.
-I can't believe this guy's on my back.
It's so ridiculous.
-So, tell me about the get up.
-I'm dressed as an Irathient, from the show Defiance.
-a race of aliens that come to live on Earth.
I always grew up kind of like
the darker kid, but I was raised by hippies and they're kind of like a weird mix between hippies and mad max road warriors--
-so it's like I love them.
-What kind of cosplay are we dealing with here?
Is this like Team Fortress?
-Oh, no, no, no.
This is Dr. McNinja.
-Like doc-- like-- what is that?
-Doctor, but he's a ninja and his heritage is Irish.
-We have [unk]--
-So wait, Dr. McNinja.
Oh, this is an actual thing.
-So, does he like-- he does like surgery and no one knows it?
So, he heals with the one hand and kills with the other, sometimes he's someone to save a life, some days he's someone to take a life.
He's there on either case.
-I have a question.
How come the sharks survive going in the tornado and then they like swim through the air?
It doesn't make any sense.
-Well, listen here.
You're gonna find that out in Sharknado 2.
-Yeah, the quest for more money.
-Oh, that's Iron Man.
You can't do Iron Man.
Mr. Stark hailing a cab.
That's what he does.
-So, I'm here on my old homeboy, Deadpool.
Always breaking the fourth wall right?
-It's all devious.
-That's the whole thing about Deadpool.
-Who told you this?
-This guy who was into comics.
He's like Deadpool is so cool, he breaks the fourth wall and he's like aware he's a comic book character.
Okay, it's true.
-It's true, you caught me-- you caught me.
-So, now when you put on the Deadpool sort of get up, 'cause-- and it's really a great
get up at all-- all together--
-I try-- I try.
-It's a lot hard, but still I try.
-Do you-- oh, fair enough.
You are-- there's some competition right there.
Oh, that guy sucks.
He half-assed [unk]--
-It's not the real me, man--
-It's not the real me.
-Half-assed it so bad.
-I'm honored though.
-Yeah, you did a good job.
Everybody here should be dressed up as someone like my friend here, absolutely.
Someone like as if when you put on the whole gear, do you feel like you have to act more like into how he's so outgoing?
-You what it is, dude?
It's the girls.
-It's the girls.
-Deadpool gets the ladies?
-They just-- they just-- that's what it is.
-And that's what it is.
-They come to you.
-Yeah, and like when the mask comes off, it's still okay, like everything is still okay?
-It all goes away, bro.
It all goes away--
-Which is a [unk]--
-I look-- burned victims look better than me.
-What do you got?
What's your deal?
-Yeah, what's your deal?
-Nurse, who's trying to keep these patients in line.
-You're doing a terrible job.
-Alicia, you know, she's hanging-- we got her a fanny pack.
-I've got my fenny pack.
-You remind me of like the mom from Addams
-Oh, that's great.
-The grandma from Addams Family.
-She's very hot.
-So, what's the deal here?
-Oh, you know, I don't really know.
It's just connected and it looks like I'm running low in fluids, you're supposed to help me.
-You really-- you sound like you're-- like a zombie from Long Island.
-Maybe I am.
-What's the deal with that?
-I don't know.
-All right, well, that's gonna wrap it up here at Comic-Con.
I met some interesting cosplayers.
Say goodbye, everybody.
-All right and until next time.
I'm Jeff Bakalar, thanks for watching.
