CES 2019: This air freshener 'prints' perfume into your home

[MUSIC] I'm here with the Airia from Procter and Gamble at CAS and think of this as a high tech air conditioner but not like the air freshener you just plug into a power point. Inside here, we've got cartridge filled with perfume that's gonna spray Out of this machine every second, but the difference is that it is using a kind of adapted thermal inkjet printer technology to spray it out. So the droplets are as tiny as 20 to 30 microns and they come out of here at a rate of 100 to 100,000 droplets per second. Now Proctor & Gamble says it's similar to printing technology so that it allows the air to be really filled with these tiny, tiny droplets and you get a really natural scent throughout your home. The whole thing is controlled with an app that lets you control things like, intensity, the color that you want coming out of the base and of course you can run it all through Alexa cuz it has Alexa integration. And most importantly, you can schedule it for the time of day that you want to feel refreshed and relaxed. This cartridge goes inside, available for about $40, and the whole unit is going to be $200. It's going on sale in the fall and they're taking pre-orders from summer, so this right here could be how you refresh your home in the future. Not with a scented candle, but with a machine that you Uses thermal inkjet technology to print fragrance through your house. Pretty high tech.
