If you live in San Francisco or 5 other cities and have a smartphone, Google is making it just a little bit easier to catch the bus.
Google says it's adding real-time transit information in Google Maps for San Francisco, Boston, Portland, San Diego, Madrid, Spain and Turin, Italy.
Google
Maps for mobile and desktop will now tell you when mass transit arrives at your stop and will offer live transit updates.
Netflix.com has received a facelift.
While the top header to the site looks the same, everything beneath it has changed quite a bit.
As you scroll vertically, the [unk] of movies will fill the screen.
The interface provides more focus on streaming media instead of DVD rentals and information like star ratings is now available when you mouse over title images.
The site makes extensive use of HTML5.
After intense questioning by members of congress last month, Apple has decided it will now ban DUI checkpoint apps.
Apple updated its App Store Review Guidelines to reject apps that contain DUI checkpoints not published by law enforcements agencies or otherwise encourage and enable drunk driving.
Congress last month questioned Apple, Google and Research In Motion for offering DUI apps and now Google and RIM have yet to respond.
Apple, though, had some friendlier ears after it presented plans to the city of Cupertino to build
a new corporate headquarters.
Steve Jobs himself was on hand to describe the proposed building like a spaceship.
It's a ring design composed of major sections of curved glass.
Jobs seemed confident that the City of Cupertino would approve the plans after he reminded them that Apple and its employees provided a major portion of the city's tax revenues.
Evernote, the maker of the popular note taking app has launched a new app called Evernote Peek that takes advantage of the iPad's 2 fancy smart covers.
If you recall, the smart covers can turn
on and off the iPad's display when lifting the cover and Evernote Peek takes advantage of that as a simple question and answer quiz app.
If you lift the cover just a little to see a question, then you can lift it a little more to see the answer.
This might just be a new wave of trivia games for the iPad.
It's been reported that several wireless carriers will now be carrying the new Samsung S2 super phone sometime in July.
The new mobile phone has a 1.2 gigahertz dual core processor and a massive 4.3 inch
super AMOLED plus touch display.
The Galaxy S2 is an update to the highly popular Galaxy S phone last year which sold 14 million units and remains Google's model Android phone.
