Boeing CEO: 737 Max soon to be one of the safest planes

From the days immediately following the linear accident our top engineers and technical experts have been working tirelessly in collaboration with the Federal Aviation Administration and our customers to finalize and implement a software update that would ensure accidents like this never happen again. The update will prevent erroneous angle of attack sensor readings from triggering the maneuvering characteristics Augmentation System or M cast. Something that initial investigation reports indicate occurred in both max accidents as one link and a longer chain of events. Overall, our talented test pilots have made 146 737 Max flights totaling roughly 246 hours of airtime with the updated software. And nearly 90% of our 50+ max operators around the globe have experienced that software update themselves During one of our simulator sessions. With the certified software update implemented, the 737 Max will be one of the safest airplanes ever to fly. I have request yet our board to stand up at committee to take a look at our overall design and certification processes. to make sure they are up to standard, and if there are any improvements we'll make those going forward. The US government also under the FAA's leadership is also doing an independent review, a certification processes and any learnings from that will be incorporated.
