>> What's up, Prizefight fans, I'm Brian Tong and we've seen plenty of touchscreen phones, but QWERTY keyboards are still making noise and not going away anytime soon. In this week's Prizefight RIM's BlackBerry Bold and Nokia's E71 square off to be the ultimate king of QWERTYs. Our judges for this fight our Senior Editor Kent German, Senior Editor Bonnie Cha and your host with the most. We'll take the average of all three judges' scores for each round using decimals rounded to the nearest tenth and the final Prizefight score will be an average of all the rounds. It's five rounds, winner takes all. Round one is about the sexy. The BlackBerry Bold screen is amazing. Its leather backing and metal accents are classy, but this guy is kind of bulky. The Nokia E71 is slimmer with a shiny metal finish that attracts a whole lot of fingerprints, but it's an overall slicker design. You could judge for yourself, but the E71 just brings a little more sexy with the 4.3 and the Bold gets a 4. Next round: navigation. The BlackBerry's trackball and roomier keyboard get major points here. The updated operating system is cleaner, but its menu icons looked too much alike. The Nokia's directional pad works well, but its keyboard is a lot more cramped even for Bonnie Cha's tiny hands, and it feels like its icons are from the early 90's. The Bold strikes back with a 4 and the E71 gets a 3. Now after averaging two rounds, RIM leads by three-tenths of a point. The third round is features. Both of these phones are rocking 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and email support. What more could you ask for? The E71 is an unlocked phone, but that comes at a price. This round is a tie and we're handing out 4.7s to both phones. Next round: Web browsing and multimedia. The Bold's superior screen already gives it an edge out of the gates, but its great sounding speakers and 3.5-millimeter headphone jack are the icing on the cake. The Web browser is improved, but it still could be better. The E71 can handle Flash Lite in its web browser, but the web navigation can be clunky. Its screen looks great and can handle various audio and video files, but it's just not on the Bold's level. The BlackBerry Bold takes this round 4.3 to 3. Now after four rounds, the Bold increases its lead to five-tenths of a point. The final round that decides it all is call quality. Both phones are tested on AT&T's network and we found the Bold offered good call quality on both sides of the conversation and it had a solid speakerphone. The E71 sounded good as well. The bad, well the speakerphone wasn't very sharp, at all. The Bold takes another close round with a 4 and the E71 gets a 3.7. So, let's average all 5 rounds and the Bold just kept getting stronger as the battle kept going winning 4.2 to 3.7 and is your Prizefight winner. These phones match each others features and the Nokia E71 caught our judges' eyes, but the Bold's multimedia and smooth navigation helped make it the king of QWERTY. I'm Brian Tong, thanks for watching. I'll catch you guys next time on another Prizefight -- ho-pow!
