AutoComplete: Tesla builds 5,000 Model 3s in a week, kinda
[MUSIC]
Here is what's making news on Road Show.
Tesla finally hit its magical number of 5,000 Model 3s in a week!
Well, sort of.
The team at Tesla blew Mr Musk's deadline by five hours finishing its 5,000th car at 5 am Pacific Time on July 1st, but we'll call that a win with an asterisk.
As of any crazy sprint to the finish we're curious to see how the build quality on these cars turned out but time is gonna tell on that one.
The Volkswagen Beetle may not be long for this world in it's current configuration, but that doesn't mean it couldn't come back as something else.
Maybe even a battery electric vehicle.
According to an interview with Volkswagen design boss Klaus Bischoff it's not out of the realm of possibility once things like the ID Buzz microbus and the ID Crozz crossover end production.
The quest is, who exactly would buy an electric beetle if nobody is buying beetles now?
When it comes to the ratio of dollars to horsepower, Dodge clearly wants to give you a lot for your money.
Think of them as the Costco of performance car manufacturers.
Something which is especially true now that pricing is available for the 797 horsepower Hell Cat Red Eye.
The Red Eye will start at around $70,000 MSRP, but with the inevitable markups, who knows what you'll get out the door for it?
Find more on these stories over at theroadshow.com and we'll talk to you tomorrow.
