AutoComplete: Ram recalls 1.1 million trucks over faulty tailgate latches

Here's what's making news on Road Show. If you're rolling around in a 2015 or 2017 Ram truck and you keep more than Taco Bell wrappers and empty Monster Energy cans in your truck bed, you better make sure it's strapped down tight. Ram is recalling 1.1 million 2015 to 2017 Ram 1500 2500. And 3500 trucks with power locking tailgates, because the locking mechanism is faulty and could cause the tailgate unexpectedly. Trucks with 8 foot beds and/or manual locking tailgates aren't effected. And yet another WTF moment from the EPA, there's a new proposal out to freeze the Federal Admission and Fuel Economy standards At the 2020 level, through 2026, a policy that would increase oil consumption by as much as half a million barrels per day. The plan would also kill California's right to set its own standards by instituting a single Federally mandated standard. Naturally California's like, nah bra, we're suing. We'll see how it plays out when the 60 day public comment period is up. We sent our own intrepid newshound Andrew Crock to drive the camoflouged X7 SUV earlier this year. And he had positive things to say about the experience. What we weren't 100% sure of was how it would look. But thanks to the ineptitude of the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property. We got a good look at it sans the wrap and it's as expected. The gaping kidney grills of the concept appear to still be in place, as is the general boxy styling.
