Apple acquired some sleep tech.
In the world of technology Apple's kind of like Pac-man.
It eats companies whole and you usually never see the acquired company again as it is now part of Pac Apple.
Beats is one of the odd ball ones.
Anyway Beddit is now owned by Apple.
Beddit is the maker of a $150 sensor that attaches to your mattress.
It tracks your sleep, heart rate, breathing, and snoring.
The sleep monitor syncs up with an app, so you can find out metrics like your sleep score.
The acquisition was made public on May 8th, with an update to Beddit's privacy policy page.
It states, Beddit has been acquired by Apple.
Your personal data will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.
So let the speculation begin.
What will Apple do with a maker of sleep tech?
I wouldn't expect the hardware aspect to continue.
As in, don't expect Apple to keep producing Beddit devices.
If the past is any indication, expect Apple to take the sleep cracking tech of Beddit and find a way to integrate it into IOS and the Apple Watch.
