Forget the current version of Android.
Images of the next version may have leaked.
The good folks at XDA Developers published a bunch of images of what could be androids new look.

Let's talk about the major things first.
There seems to be on screen privacy indicators, like on iOS.
Take a look at the top right of this image, the green indicator here Means your camera and Mike are on another screen it looks like you can tap that indicator area to see what's going on.
In this example, you can see that the camera app is using the camera which makes lots of sense.
The note Verification also shows chat, use the microphone recently, meaning, the privacy section could include more, than what's happening right now.
Speaking of privacy, there appears to be a very simple privacy setting menu.
Instead of things being buried in the permissions manager, settings like disable camera, mute microphone, and location, are highlighted.
They also have toggles which is next to them to quickly change those settings.
FDA says that the documentation itself says that Google wants every app to include camera and mic indicators for Android 12.
There's also a ton of vertical spacing in the notification pane.
In some ways, it reminds me of Samsung's one UI with larger and larger phones.
It makes more sense to put notifications Lower on the screen so you can interact with them while using just one hand.
The notification panel also looks different than Android 11 and that it is a single sheet.
Normally, notifications are set off in their own little box below the quick settings.
And speaking of the quick settings, it looks like there are only four options at the top instead of six.
I'm not sure that's wise, but whatever.
Let's talk widgets.
Yes, Android has had widgets forever but people will say hey, those look like iOS widgets.
Sure, whatever.
Anyway, three of the widgets seem to be pulling from Facebook Messenger These widgets have shapes that make them fit in better with Android as a whole.
Instead of the squared off or circular widgets, these are pill shaped or squirrels.
Another image shows the conversations notification in the notification pane.
This one shows icons for WhatsApp, Google messages and Facebook Messenger, That would imply that you could have one singular base for all conversations instead of getting notifications from multiple apps.
XDA developer says there's more so the widgets in the documentation it received.
Google would be making conversation with it a mandatory feature for all Android 12 devices.
Let's take a look at a regular home screen.
Screen you can see a very understated look for the phone, clock and camera icons.
Gone are the colors.
The phone icon looks to be either a pinkish hue or pulling this color from the background wallpaper.
It's a little hard to tell.
Please keep in mind that none of these images have been verified by Google in my experience FDA has a great track record.
So I think the images are probably the real deal.
When will we officially see Android 12 likely in May at Google i O. That's traditionally the time we get to see what's coming up.
When that happens, we will tell you, I might as well see you online.
