Amazon wants to make your house more secure with Alexa Guard and Ring
Tech Industry
We're starting with Alexa with something we call Alexa Guard.
Alexa Guard takes your Echo devices, your smart lights and your security service provider, if you have one, and it allows you to keep your home more secure when you're away.
The first thing that it does and how it works is, it's really easy to start Alexa Guard, if you turn it on.
All you do is say, Alexa, I'm leaving, or something like that.
And she immediately moves your echoes into guard mode throughout your house.
And when we do that, we will be starting With a few what we call smart alert that if they're detected they send you a notification on your phone.
The first two that we'll be launching with are when she's in guard mode she hears breaking glass, or a smoke, or CO detector.
Those alarms go off.
We capture little bit of the audio clip of that and will send it half to you on your phone.
In addition, optionally customers can turn on what we call 'Way-Mode Lighting', again, when we say Alexa, I am leaving and Way-Mode Lighting is on, Alexa if you have smart lighting in your house, well, intelligently randomized the lighting To make it look like somebody is home to deter intruders while you're away.
And then we want to integrate Alexa guard with third-party service providers were starting with ring and ADT.
And if you elect to do so you can then send these clips, not only to your smart phone when it's something that's heard but you can also send it directly to your professionally monitored security company for them to be able to listen to it and then engage first responders if it's needed.
Earlier this year they launched The ring alarm.
And it is off to an amazing start.
Reviews from customers are what I'm most joyful about.
They love how simple it is to install and how easy it is to make work.
That is not easy, that takes a lot of work to get that simplicity.
And I know some of you have reviewed it as well as said the same thing.
And we love that customers can now feel safer in their homes because of Ring alarm and in addition, an added bonus is that it is also incredibly affordable at only $10 dollars a month.
