Cameras are no longer exotic in cars.
In fact, in May of 2018, they're gonna be required in every new car sold in the US.
At least in the back.
And when you see cars already that have front cameras, surround cameras, even sneaky or right hand side, looking back cameras.
But I don't care how many cameras come to cars, you still gotta know that your mirrors are your first line of visual awareness, and most of us Set them up wrong.
Let me show you how to do it right.
Okay, first of all sit in the car properly adjusted.

When you're there normally you'd adjust your mirrors here right?
You'd go to the switch, move them around the left and the right and this.
And that'd be wrong.
To do your side mirrors you've got to start by leaning your head over to the left.
Now, when your head's over here against the window, you adjust that left side mirror out so you just see a little bit of this side of your car.
And I mean just kind of a slice on the inside of the mirror.
This may seem strangely wide when you move your head back here, but stay with me.
Me.
Here's something similar for that right hand mirror.
Move your head right about in the center here where the console is.
Get on that adjuster, and again, set the right mirror so you just see a slice of that side of your car in it.
When you're all done you're going to notice that when you look back in the hundred foot range behind you, you're gonna have a nice overlap between this mirror and this one, and then this edge of the mirror and the one on the far right.
Not too much overlap, cuz that wastes Wide angle visibility, you're gonna be aware of more cars and motorcycles in your blind spot, that means fewer swerves on your part.
Fewer horn being blown at you and fewer fingers being lifted your way, and that's a good thing any day.
