Hi, I'm Scott Stein, Senior Editor at Cnet.com.
And this is Acer Aspire Timeline 3830TG-6431.
Now, that's a mouthful and what it is, it's a newly re-designed TimelineX Laptop that is part of a revamp look that Acer has given to its thin and light 13-inch laptop.
We also have the 14 and a larger size 15-inch laptop as well.
We're gonna focus on this 13.3-inch.
It doesn't have an optical drive
but what it does have are some really good specs inside.
It's got a fast Core i5 processor and it got some great and video GeForce Graphics.
They're as fast as what we found in a lot of larger mainstream laptops.
You get some great gaming performance in a really thin laptop.
It's not all about light; it's 4.2 pounds.
Now, that's either a lot if you're comparing it to a thin laptop, but it is a lot less than you'd find on some of those bulkier chassis.
And when you close the lid, it really is a thin laptop, very similar dimensions to the Sony Vaio S,
or to the Toshiba Portege once that we've seen recently that fit into that the size class.
We got a thinner laptop, not super thin 'cause then you're dealing with the Macbook Air, or Samsung Series 9, but the advantage we're getting here is that we're getting a full voltage, or say faster Core i5 processor in here, no compromises and the battery life is over 4 hours which is good especially for the graphics [unk].
And the price under $800 about 780, depending on where you might find it for sale
is a really good value for it.
The only thing you're giving up is not having an optical drive but you're getting USB 3.0, you're getting HDMI and you're getting a great internal set of specs.
If you don't mind a slightly wonky keyboard and trackpad, you might wanna really take a look at those new insert TimelineX.
I'm Scott Stein and that's to look at the Acer TimelineX 3830TG-6431.
