>> Hi, I'm Rich Brown, Senior Editor for CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the AVS Ultimate X Striker Elite. This system comes with Intel's brand new QX6800 quad core processor. It did very well in our benchmarks, it didn't break records but it was about where it should be considering it's specs. So with that fast running chip and a high end 3D graphics card, this is definitely a gaming system for sure. You can see on the front panel that there's plenty of vents here. It's all for ventilation. There's two fans right here and you really only have room for two optical drives. All the usual ports and things you expect to find on the front of a PC, are located here, up top. This case also have a nice little tray where you can put CD's, pens, you know, all kinds of little accessories, keeps them out of the way, a little tidy. There's also a giant fan up top here that helps keep the whole system cool. So AVS did kind of a reverse build with this system and put the power supply in the bottom to make room for the big fan up top. You can see here, the quad core CPU is cooled with a liquid cooling system. Keeps it pretty quiet actually. It's not too bad. Here you have the high end G Force 8800GTX graphics card. There's only one 3D card in here now, but there's another slot if you wanna add two and the beefy 1100 watt power supply should power pretty much whatever else you wanna put in here. Otherwise though, you can see this is a pretty expandable system. There's 4 gigs of memory here between two sticks. That leaves you two free slots. So you can really add a ton of RAM to this thing. There's only a single hard drive though. It's 150 gig, 10K drive. We like to see a little more storage in a system for this price, but you do have plenty of room to expand. There's two free slots here and you can probably fit another few hard drives in there as well. It's kind of a weird time for high end gaming PC's right now. Because with Vista, a lot of the graphics drivers aren't really final yet. So there's still some tweaks that need to kinda come down before we really would recommend that you spend a lot of money on a gamin system. Otherwise though, this AVS Delure is great bang for the buck. So I'm Rich Brown and this is the AVS X Striker Elite.
