5 things you need to know about the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS

With it's relatively small size, mid engine, rear drive layout and healthy turbo charged grunt the Porsche Cayman is one of our performance cars on the market today. This new range topping GTS variant only improves upon those great bones. Here are five things you need to know. The GTS uses the same 2.5 liter turbo charged flat fore as the Caman S, but thanks to a new intake manifold that improves air flow as well as a larger diameter compressor wheel for the turbo charger, the engine now makes 365 and 309 pan feet of torque with the 6 speed manual transmission. Dual clutch automatic models produce an additional eight pound feat, but I'm totally fine sacrificing that tiny amount of twist for some extra stick shifting fun. Every GTS comes with Porsche's active suspension management system, which lowers the car by ten millimeters and improves cornering balance without affecting overall ride quality. GTS models also ride on 20 inch correra S Wheels and come with a sport exhaust that sounds delightful. [SOUND] Sharp steering, powerful brakes and tremendous power work together to make the Cayman GTS one of the best driving sports cars around. Its combination of mid-engine balance and rear wheel drive not to mention a whole lot of power means it'll never, ever bore you. The GTS's interior is largely the same as any other Cayman, with high quality materials and comfortable sport seats. The Porsche Communication Management Infotainment System is full of features, and its display is bright and crisp. Apple CarPlay comes standard, but unfortunately Android Auto is still not available. This maybe a two seats sports care but there's actually 15 cubic feet of space available for [UNKNOWN] cargo. Sure it's split across the front trunk and the rear trunk but that's still as much cargo space as a Toyota [UNKNOWN] With price starting around $80,000, the GTS is obviously the most expensive version of the [UNKNOWN] But because it incorporates so many dynamic upgrades, some of which aren't available on lesser models, it actually makes this version the best performance value.
