Just don't forget about that cord that keeps you tethered to the real world.
The cord that connects the headset to your computer Where it can be dangerous if you trip over it or get tangled while you're moving in your virtual space.
Here's how to keep it out of your way.
On the Oculus Rift, make sure the cord is secure into the clip on the headset.
On the HTC Vive, check that it's slipped into the back loop On the straps.
Feed the cord into a carabiner clip and clip it to your belt loop.
This helps keep it off the floor so you can't trip over it.
It works best if you clip it to the back of your pants and pull a little bit of slack so it stays out of the way of your hands and arms.
No belt loop?
Clip the cord on to your waste band with the binder clip.
When the cord is close to your body your left less likely to get tangled in it even if you spin around.
Keep the cord off your floor with a cable holder or a binder clip on your desk.
Make sure you keep enough Slack so you can move around, but not so much that the cord drags on the floor.
Now you're free to roam about your virtual world without getting hurt in the real one.
