I'm Dan Ackerman here taking a very first look at Apple's new 27-inch iMac.
The big change here is not just four phase screen but a five phase screen, 5120 by 2880.
That of course is a higher resolution.
That, even the handful of 4k PCs that we've seen so far this year.
It's packed into the same really thin iMac body that we've had for the last couple of years.
Very thin at the edge, kind of bows out in the middle.
Inside Intel Haswell CPU.
No real change there.
Until we'll have new chips next year.
But for now.
The same Core i5 and Core i7 chips that you can get in other high end PCs.
One big switch this year, they're going with AMD graphics this year instead of NVIDIA and all this put together, it's not gonna be inexpensive it starts at $2499 for a 27 inch iMac with a 5K display.
I'm Dan Ackerman and that's Apple's new 5K iMac.
