The MLA flex architecture is about three quarters, aluminum and boasts of 50% greater torsional stiffness than its predecessor. And this foundation should make the vehicle safer and more refined [00:01:30] than ever. An electronic air suspension system is standard as is rear axle. Steering of the addition of this allows the back wheels to turn up to seven degrees for enhanced agility at low speeds, a greater stability on the highway. This also trims the vehicle's turning circle to just 36 feet. The smallest of any land Rover ever as for capability. This SUV has nearly 12 inches of ground clearance and the ability to Wade through more than 35 inches of water [00:02:00] for enhanced grip, a locking rear differential is standard.
Speaker 1: While the terrain response to system allows you to tailor how the vehicle responds to varying conditions, both on road and off underneath that towering hood. The 2022 range Rover features some fresh power trains. The base offering is a three liter turbocharged in line six, augmented by a 48 volt mile hybrid system. This affair gets you 395 horsepower and 406 pound feet of torque. Next up [00:02:30] a new 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 sourced from BMW replaces the old supercharged five liter. This unit delivers a stout 523 horsepower and 553 pounds of twist beyond all that a plug-in hybrid model with up to 434 horsepower and a whopping 62 miles of EV range should arrive in the us for the 2023 model year. Finally, a fully electric version. Yes, fully electric should [00:03:00] go on sale in 2024. This new range Rover will be offered in standard and long wheel base variance, but new for 2022, you'll be able to get the elongated model with three rows and room for up to seven people.
Speaker 1: A first for this vehicle, a super premium four seat and model will also be available. Range Rover is really emphasizing luxury here. What a surprise, right? You get your typical super high quality leathers and woods though. They're also offering [00:03:30] some more sustainable materials, which is pretty cool beyond that. You get a 13.1 inch screen here on the dashboard. It looks gorgeous, which is home to the company's P pro multimedia system. Also standard of course, is a 13.7 inch digital instrument cluster, which is just as crisp and clear. This interior breaks no new ground. And I'm thankful for that. It's clean and elegant with no gimmicks or hokey. Yeah, bleep that out. I said, [00:04:00] bull mixing things up premium wool blend fabric is offered as is leather. That's been tanned in a more environmentally friendly way. Cow free materials are available across the range, too.
Speaker 1: Keeping things interesting. SV models come with ceramic accents on the shifter volume dial temperature control ring, and more. These embellishments look great and feel even better. Intricate wood inlays are available too. Adding some visual zest to an otherwise UN [00:04:30] adorned interior comfort in the new range. Rover is high as you'd expect. The first two rows of seats are smashing, but the AFT most bench is plenty hospitable adults should, would have little to complain about back there. Thanks to ample space and power controls for 2022. The classic range Rover split tailgate has been retained making this SUV just a little more versatile. It keeps items from rolling out when the main hatch is open and it's a great place to sit and watch a Fox hunt [00:05:00] or whatever it is. Cultured wealthy people do these days with restrained design, more technology, enhanced luxury, and a lineup of new powertrains.
