2022 GMC Hummer EV trolls Tesla's Cybertruck with 1,000 horsepower

[MUSIC] The GMC Hummer EV has finally been revealed and here's what you need to know about this all electric super truck. [MUSIC] This battery powered pickup is designed to deliver incredible performance both on road and off. Now the GMC Hummer EV will offer more than 350 miles of electric only driving range when it's double stacked 24 module altium battery pack is fully juiced and that ain't too bad for a vehicle that well basically looks like a brick. Now when it's time to refuel, and I'm making air quotes right now, this rig supports 800 volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kilowatts, meaning it can add nearly 100 miles of driving range. As little as 10 minutes and that's super handy, provided you can find one of these chargers. I understand they're pretty scarce these days. And you're probably going to be intimately acquainted with charging stations if you regularly take advantage of this Riggs outlandish performance, you see It will be powered by up to three different electric motors delivering an estimated 1000 horsepower and up to 11,500 pound feet of torque With an asterisk, you see GM spokes folks won't really say whether that's motor torque or wheel torque. There's a big difference between those two figures, but in any event, this trucks going to have a lot of twist. Anyway, all of that torquey goodness should allow this reborn Hummer electric. Quick truck to blast from a standstill to 60 miles an hour in around three seconds. [MUSIC] As for off road capability this all electric super truck offers things like crab walk diagonal driving, which allows it to move sideways at low speeds for better maneuverability. 35 inch Goodyear empty tires are available though it can accommodate up to 30 sevens and adaptive air suspension allows the body to move up to six inches again to help it get over particularly nasty terrain. A phalanx of skid plates and ultra vision underbody cameras with washers to keep the lenses clean Are also on the menu and they are there to help you traverse nasty terrain again without causing any damage to the vehicle. This GMC Hummer EV should be able to scale 18 inch verticals and drive through more than two feet of water. Letting Mother Nature in is the standard infinity roof which has removable sections that will actually store in the vehicles front trunk which is super convenient. Beyond that is pickups rear glass and tonneau cover are both power operated Other tech includes the latest and greatest version of super cruise which of course is the automakers excellent hands free driving aid. Now a six function multipro tailgate is also on the menu just like you can get on the GMC Sierra pickup truck plus a 13.4 inch infotainment screen is inside as well as a 12.3 inch driver information display. Just like its predecessors, this new Hammer is so squared off. It practically makes refrigerator boxes look curvaceous. It's a bit too much for me personally. But regardless of the design this pickups capable Ability is what really counts. Now we still don't know what it will tow or haul but based on all the other specs, it looks like this thing is going to outclass practically every other truck on the road when it does go on sale but honestly. [MUSIC] These top shelf models feature white paint, a lunar horizon interior theme and all of the off road goodies I just talked about now including destination fees, they're going to set you back 112,500 And $95 not so cheap. Three more affordable models will eventually be offered though their launches will be staggered through 2024 which seems like a ridiculously long amount of time, but whatever. I don't make the rules They'll sticker for $79,995, 89995 and 99995 with the cheapest model arriving last, so I guess all of the early adopters out there are gonna be forced to spend the most money. GMC Hummer EV production is slated to begin in late. 2021 at GM Detroit Hamtramck plant, which has been transformed into a dedicated electric vehicle manufacturing plant, and it was also just renamed factory zero.
