2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban carry shades of Silverado

The Chevrolet Suburban is the longest running nameplate in the automotive industry.
Over the past 85 years, this long roof family mover has been pushing Americans across our amber waves of grain.
Now for 2021, it's time to meet the latest iteration of both the suburban and its smaller sibling, the Tahoe.
GM gave us some time with the new suburban.
So let's talk about the bigger body unframed brother.
I don't even need to put my glasses on to realize that the new suburban has borrowed.
Well, most of its looked from the latest iteration of Silverado pickup, grafting this new face onto a two box silhouette that, in my opinion looks even cleaner than its pickup sibling.
The 2021 suburban is bigger in every way expanding its wheelbase by 4.1 inches and lowering the cargo floor in the back in addition to well expanding and just about every other dimension as well.
The result is a max cargo capacity of 144.6 cubic feet and improvement of 19% giving this car the largest amount of passenger and cargo space of any SUV.
Three power trains will be on offer for both taco and suburban.
The standard boys comprise a 5.3 liter VA making 355 horsepower which is standard on most trims.
But if you want to upgrade there's also a 6.2 liter VA making a legalization friendly 420 horsepower on the high country trip.
If that's not enough and you want a little bit more efficiency, there's also a three liter turbocharged inline six diesel, making 277 horsepower and 460 pound feet of torque.
On the tech front, there is plenty to talk about for both Tahoe and Suburban.
Automatic emergency braking is standard but you can always bolster that with a little bit extra safety tech like parking sensors, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring.
Under the body, you can get some certain cool upgrades to like adaptive air suspension with adjustable ride heights or magnetic ride control.
Inside the car you get a 10 inch touchscreen is standard and if you equip it the right way, you can also get a head up display that measures a whopping 15 inches Like every other GM vehicle you get a whole bunch of other tech goodies like available Wi Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a bunch of USB ports.
The 2021 Chevrolet, suburban and Tahoe go on sale in the middle of next year.
Both will be built at GM's facility in Arlington, Texas and pricing will be announced closer to the on sale day.
