2020 Subaru Legacy becomes a more interesting midsize sedan

The current Subaru Legacy is a solid but one of the duller entries in the mid-size sedan segment.
Styling and performance are largely forgettable, with the only major standout trait being standard all wheel drive.
While this, the all new 2020 Subaru Legacy, hopes to liven things up a little with the help of a new platform.
Turbo engine option and tech duties.
The legacy moves on to the Subaru global platform that features a 70% improvement in torchinal regitity compared to the current car.
Along with a reworked suspension Subaru is promising more responsive handling and better ride comfort.
Base power comes from a familiar 2.5 liter box or 4 cylinder making 182 horsepower and 176 lb feet of torch that bolts to a continuously bearable transmission.
The [UNKNOWN] to return 27 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway.
To 3.6 liter flat [UNKNOWN] away and it was replaced by a new 2.4 liter turbo charge [UNKNOWN] with 260 horses and 277 [UNKNOWN] helping return an estimated 24 miles per gallon city and 32 miles per gallon highway Visually, the new Legacy isn't a drastic departure from the car.
It places with a slightly sleeker front end and [UNKNOWN].
It's still far from exciting to look at, but it's clean and generally agreeable.
The cabin is roomier, with a simple dash layout, and, according to Subaru, quieter going down the road.
The biggest news inside is a huge 11.6 inch Star Link multimedia infotainment that comes on Premium, Sport, And limited versions of the Legacy.
The tablet-style split-screen display handles the [UNKNOWN] navigation, 12 speaker Harmon-Kardon audio, WiFi hotspot, and is standard with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
For safety, all Legacies get the iSlate driver assist package with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist with lane centering.
And a new gyroscopic focused distraction mitigation system is available that uses a camera and facial recognition software to monitor the driver for signs of fatigue or distraction.
So if a sleepy or distracted driver is detected, a warning on a gauge cluster and infotainment screen will alert the driver and passengers.
The 2020 Subaru Legacy will go on sale this fall.
Pricing won't be available until yet closer to the on sale day but it likely won't differ too much from the current car which starts at around $23,500.
