2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition is a vibrant celebration

Thirty years ago the original Mazda Miata premiered at the 1989 Chicago auto show in all its pop-up headlight glory.
And now fittingly Mazda is using the 2019 show to roll out this, the limited production 30th anniversary edition of its lovable MX-5 Miata.
All 30th anniversary edition MX-5s will be covered in a standout racing paint job which Mazda says is an evolution of the yellow shade that covered the original 1989 Club Racer showcar.
The special color is also used on all the brake calipers with front units supplied by Brembo [UNKNOWN] The whole thing rides on a unique set of dark finish 17 inch wheels.

Equipped cars also get Bilstein shocks for sharper handling.
Head inside and you'll find more orange accents on the seats, doors, dash, and shifter.
Every anniversary edition also gets Recaro seats, a Bose sound system, and the Mazda Connect Infotainment setup that comes standard with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 30th anniversary package is built on the range-topping Grand Touring MX5 trim and tacks on more than $4,200 to the price tag.
Soft tops will begin at $34,995, while the RF starts at 37,595 bucks.
The only option available will be swapping in a six-speed automatic in place of the oh-so-good six-speed manual for an additional $500 on the Roadster and $400 on the RF.
Mazda will only build 3,000 examples for worldwide consumption, of which only 500 are earmarked for the US.
All thirtieth anniversary additions coming here will be powered by a two liter four cylinder, churning out 181 horse power and 151 pound feet of torque, just like every other Miata sold here now.
