Cortana is your new desktop digital assistant. Here's how she worksMicrosoft's digital assistant makes her desktop debut.
[SOUND] Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana makes the jump from mobile to the P-C with windows 10. You can use Cortana to do all sorts of things, from searching the web to finding directions or setting reminders. She'll also serve up interesting new stories and be able to help you find cool stuff that's near by. To do all that done, Cortana needs to learn quite a bit about you. So keep a notebook full of the details about things you're interested in, adding more information all the time. She'll also scan your email and calendar to keep track of up coming appointments to help keep you on track and on time. Now if this all sounds a little too invasive, you can tweak the information she keeps track of or shut it all off altogether. You'll be missing out on a lot of functionality and some great jokes though. Hey Cortana. Tell me a joke. Did you hear about the motherboard who ran away to join the circus? Okay, so maybe the jokes are terrible. I'm Nate and that's Cortana. Be sure to check out all of our Windows 10 coverage on CNET. Thanks for watching.
