-Hey, I'm Donald Bell for cnet.com and today we're taking a First Look at the Toshiba Portege Z830 series.
This is being shown off at IFA 2011.
This is Toshiba's first ultrabook.
It's a 13.3-inch screen, and it's the world's lightest 13-inch ultrabook at 2.45 pounds.
They're getting to that weight by using a magnesium casing, a solid-state drive, and a very thin ultrathin screen to get that whole weight down to a very lightweight design.
With that weight though, you're not really sacrificing in terms of ports or output.
You're getting HDMI output, USB 3.0 connectivity, Ethernet port, VGA port, SD card slot.
You're getting a full-sized keyboard.
You're also not sacrificing anything in terms of performance.
There's support here for Intel's core processors up to a Core i7 processor.
And also, they've got sound quality covered.
They've partnered with Wave technology to include sound-enhancement software.
It's really gonna give you a loud sound
from both the internal speakers and also great sound quality coming out from the-- the audio jack that's built into this as well.
All of that and you're getting it at under price point of 1000 dollars, which is pretty remarkable given both its weight and the capabilities of this ultrabook.
So, we're looking forward to seeing this in November.
