This cool VR security camera has little practical useIC Real Tech's $599 Allie Home camera has a really cool feature -- it can stream in 360 degrees -- but that's about it.
[MUSIC[ Guys I really wanted to love this camera. The Ollie Home by IC Realtek because it's really cool. It has two 180 degree lenses for an immersive 360 degree view, but At the end of the day, it's a security camera that can't actually protect your home. The only home is just a really limited camera, it doesn't have motion or sound detection, it won't send you alerts, it doesn't have advanced scheduling or automation, it doesn't integrate with third parties, it doesn't really do anything. The only thing you can do, is opt into cloud storage, it starts at $6.95 a month for 24 hours. You can also add a VR headset into the mix. Basically any model will do that can accommodate a smart phone. And it lets you see exactly what the Alleve home camera sees remotely and more immersively. That's so, so cool. I love that, but it just isn't enough Enough to justify the price. The Allie home camera really is cool. I mean, you can capture 360 degree views in the same instance. That's really neat. But, given it's price and limitations it and its VR headset just aren't worth it. [NOISE]
