Thinksound Thunder 10mm headphonesThe Thinksound Thunder 10mm headphones are a good value at their street price and should be a top consideration for those who like plenty of bass and natural sound.
[ Music ] ^M00:00:03 >> For those who are taking every measure to live green, portable electronics can be grounds for crisis of conscience. Environmentally-friendly products aren't the norm in the gadget world. thinksound is aiming to change this tendency with thunder ten-millimeter headphones: a compact set of earbuds designed to leave the smallest eco-footprint possible. The first step is the earpieces, which are encased in wood from renewable sources. Here you have the choice of two finishes: the darker black version I have here and a slightly lighter silver cherry version. Descending from the earbuds is a thin cable coated in PVC-free plastic. Although this material is supposed to be tangle-resistant, that's not what we found in testing. I'm a little concerned for the durability because of this. Moving along, you'll find a single, gold-plated straight plug at the bottom. In addition to the environmentally-sound earphones, thinksound's package is made from recycled material and the included pouch is biodegradable cotton. Of course, all this is for naught if the earphones sound terrible. Luckily, the thunder offers mostly pleasant playback with audio sounding very open and natural for such small earbuds. They're certainly a reasonable buy at their street price of $44.99. I'm Jasmine France for CNET, and this has been a first look at the thinksound thunder ten-millimeter headphones.
