The PS4 games coming out in 2016Fresh off the Paris Games Week stream we talk about all the games confirmed for 2016, including No Man's Sky, Street fighter 5 and a Beta for Gran Turismo Sport.
In this section we're going to concentrate on what we're looking forward to playing next year, 2016, only a couple of months left. So you don't really have that much in the can for the rest of 2015, I've been looking forward towards 2016 a lot of things to get excited about. Justin, first of all, what were some of the games that jumped out to you that somebody showed off today? [LAUGH] It was so long. It was like two hours. Oh my God. [LAUGH] [LAUGH] Look at the [INAUDIBLE] Okay. This is the list of games that we have currently, that we'll have to now get through. Know that Danny's losing a mouse with his laptop. I am because the trackpad is broken. **** excuse. So it's great going into having these experiences, that don't feel super new. But I do like the mix Of old technology and new with something like Horizon. Zero dog. Yeah. Yeah. That was really cool, that big dinosaur battle. We've seen that before and I feel like we've seen it from a different standpoint this time. Like she was taking down the dinosaur in a different way. That looked really awesome. Yeah. That's an interesting looking game and one of a couple of our staged MOs. It looks beautiful as well. Yeah, it reminds me of what was that third person? Vanquish. It reminds me of Vanquish. She has a little slide manuever that she does. I don't know if they'll show it here. Has she got rockets on her ankles? No, but she slides on her knees for way longer than momentum dictates. Oh, really? It's kinda That reminded me of anguish for sure. > What I don't understand is why is she wearing furs but fighting things that shoot lasers and is fully armoured. If she's pulling off armour and things from there wouldn't she pull out maybe some plates? > No because like they hate the machines, right. Technology is what killed there forefathers. So they're all like **** it I'm going to wear mink. Is that cuz it looks so. Another game all about exploring weird and wonderful worlds. We finally got a release date for it was No Man's Sky coming at June 2016. Yeah. E3 time. Yeah. Excited about that one Mike? Yeah I've been excited for No Man's Sky for Just like a lot of people for a long time, and every time they push it back or they just kind of are hazy on when it's going to release, you know, Sean Murray was Tweeting yesterday or something? He's like, hey, really sorry that we can't be more specific but we really don't wanna **** this up, we really wanna nail it. And I agree with him, I just say take your time and bring it out so we can enjoy it when it comes out and Every time I see it, it just makes me wanna play it more. It's just kind of that pure exploration without too much intent, kind of like a Bethesda game, almost, like those kind of sandboxes. I'm still curious as to whether No Man's Sky will have enough substance to the exploration to keep me coming back, but just like a Purely. Then maybe like a week or two or just exploring sounds awesome. So I'm glad I'll be able to have that like at the end of the busy spring season. On the voiceovers [UNKNOWN] sort of thing. I don't know the guy from Blade Runner on And also hobo with a shotgun. [CROSSTALK] February 16 we've got a release date for Street Fighter 5 as well. Hell yeah. Dhalsim's in the game! Who would have known? There are 6 other characters of which we don't really know who they are, unless Eric has figured that out yet. [CROSSTALK] There was some data mining yesterday and they found Ibuki and Juri character data in the beta, so maybe. Let's talk about the way you unlock these characters though, because it's kind of a- By fighting, in the street! By using fight money! Yeah, tell me about fight money. Remember when you used to play fighting games and you beat the arcade mode and it would unlock a new character? Yeah! Yeah, so it's sort of like that where you're not using DLC or anything else, you're playing the game to unlock new characters, Is that Seth on the right? No that looks like Dudley. Oh, on the right? He's got the Tommy gun on the left. He's second in from the left, that looks like a boxer. E. Honda. Apollo Creed. [LAUGH] Sorry, fight money. Yeah, so for some reason, there's an in-game currency. I don't know why you need that. But that's how you unlock new characters. It's not DLC. It's, they're essentially avoiding the folly of what they did with Street Fighter X Tekken where they characters on the disc. And then they released it as DLC. So, to play devil's advocate, do you think they can Implement Mike, our transactions with the site money. Yeah. Yeah. [CROSSTALK] Do you think they will? [CROSSTALK] I'm sure they will. [CROSSTALK] 100%>> But look, I think Street Fighter fans will play the game enough to build a sort of, people who really like Street Fighter will play it enough. And they'll eventually just unlock enough money. I don't think it's the sort of game where five hours in you're gonna think, man, I'm bored. I need to get something new out of this experience final throwdown ten bucks. Maybe if you're super curious, but I think that this game lends itself to long play sessions anyway. So yeah. I'm personally not too worried about [INAUDIBLE] transaction. That's me. A couple of other games mentioned as well. Let's see [INAUDIBLE] Nope. Avicii, Avicii can be playing that. Sorry, yeah, yeah. And Matterfall, which is the new. Hell yeah, Housemark. Yeah, the best launch game for PS4. This looks very much like a CG trailer for a more indie looking game, though. From the right. A little bit, yeah. [CROSSTALK] 2-D shooter, maybe, is what it's going to be. It's going to be, probably, a great action game that people will love. There you go. [LAUGH] You heard it here first folks. On [UNKNOWN] we saw another little trailer, some of the multi-player stuff as well. That trailer was kinda B.S. to me. Then he threw that thing and the big- El Dorado. That's the sarcophagus from the [UNKNOWN] Fortune, yeah. That was really cool. Right yeah? Like don't get me hyped. Yeah they're doing all the supernatural elements. I'm on board with the idea but the trailer wasn't showing gameplay. It looks like it was. They were cutting from one perspective to the next. Yeah. It's like This is not what the experience is going to be like. You are a camera flying through a prescripted battle. You may get to see all the characters, you get to see Sully and Drake. I was writing a new story and I kept typing gameplay. I was like, wait a minute, that wasn't gameplay, that was footage. It's just hype play. It's these humans murdering each other. It's great. Anyone can make good hype footage, but a game that works in action, like real time is very different. Yeah! Shoot that lady! There is something weird about them wearing more civilian clothes that makes them a little more gross in a type of way. [LAUGH] Well they got a [UNKNOWN], he's a soldier, that's good. Drake is a murderer. Someone just wearing Gap I guess. Yeah exactly. So you shoot him in the face. I'd be surprised if there was some kind of- Brought to you by Banana Republic! [LAUGH] Let's just remind you that Drake is a homicidal maniac who murders everyone he meets. Yeah, him and Lara Croft have got a real good body count game going on there. Let's move on to the latest fever dream from Media Molecule [INAUDIBLE] Actually, yeah. So. In name as well. Dreams. So people, when we were watching this in the, in the office, some people were really freaked out by the imagery because- Yeah. You have a. It was more like Pans Liber, like it was very Gieromo Deltora, kind of dream scapes. I love it, I though that looked really cool, I really want to be a part of this. Where as then I was sitting next to Randolf Ramsey who's our managing editor, and hes like nope. Nope, this is not [UNKNOWN]. It's real close to being super creepy. I experience this every night already. I don't wanna pay money for it. [LAUGH] I wake up in a sweat, and it just glows, and spiders. Yeah, I promise all of you, it's not fun. I'm just kidding. This looks interesting. Yeah. The that hole like six axis or whatever. Yeah that guy. It's this right here like. How can that be creepy? Look it's just a mouse walking over and he getting in the dark. Like it's cute it's Harry Potter meets Guillermo del Toro meets Mickey Mouse. Looking forward to playing Nightmares maybe next year, there's no date on this yet, so next year or beyond. Some betas coming next year, Battleborn, there's an open beta apparently coming to Sony's console first. Then we also got news of the new GT game, Gran Turismo Sport. Of which there will be a beta next year as well. What do you think of that bad boy? I really like the Gran Turismo series. I didn't like six very much. Five was pretty good, but six just went too deep into the micro-transaction for me. But this is one series that I love also because of what it represents. Which is this This weird like search for like high tech and when it comes out it's always just like oh this is pretty great, but it's not like super futuristic. But it's like a silly little series though like it's got this like horrible UI. Yes. But you know it takes itself too seriously but I really like the way it controls traditionally and I like their attention to detail. So I'm looking forward to that, and the fact that it's going to be in VR is pretty cool. Probably not the best way to play it, but probably a fun experience. So, do you think that this game will come out first, or that we will put a manned mission to Mars? [LAUGH] Probably coincide on the same day. [LAUGH] I mean, if they're talking about like it is kind of out, but it's not really [UNKNOWN] anything to say, oh, we're going to have a. You know beta within six months of this happening, but apparently it's happening, no prologue this time. Look I mean there have been a lot of Gran Turismo game that have fell victim to delay but between five and six wasn't that long. So how many Forza games will come out you know what I mean. I would, I'll bet at least three. Has there been three since the last Gran Turismo? Yeah. Yeah big guy. Including oh yeah been around even more. Well a lot of good games coming out next year. We have one funny game coming out this year, Drive By Bike. [LAUGH] I couldn't even get it out of mouth and he started laughing. That's there anser, Xbox has been pushing like, no we have a great 2015, we're gonna talk about 2016 soon. But riding the Tomb Raider, got some Halo. What's Play Station got? We're on bikes so that [INAUDIBLE] you don't like. Driveclub is just the middle aged man who's having a mid-life crisis, thinks motorcycles are gonna solve everything. Throwing money at it. Yeah. Yeah. It's currently available on the Playstation Store. I don't think this is an expansion. I think this is, yeah it is a new stand-alone experience. So you can pay real world money for this. Literally right now while you're watching this you could be buying drive club bikes. How much is? I have no idea how much it costs. Finally. I'm pouting to try and see if I can see what the cost is. No. Steve I just want. Oh. as soon as it's finished I'm gonna go. It's 15 euro. So it's probably 15 dollars in that case There you go, go play it, why aren't you playing it yet? Are you playing it, no? All right, well if you're not playing that, there's lots of good Sony Play Station four games coming out in 2016. Let us know what you thought of Sony's, all the games we showed off today. Words falling out of my mouth like David Cage. We didn't talk about that actually. [LAUGH] Is that coming out next year? No. [CROSSTALK] All right, there you go, you heard it here first. Let us know what you think of Sony's 2016 lineup in the comment box below. [BLANK_AUDIO]
