The automated floss dispenser (!) you didn't know you wanted
File this away under gadgets you never you knew you needed, a smart floss dispenser that will train you to floss your teeth.
It's called the floss time and it's about as simple as a smart gadget can be.
No need to pair your phone, just flip the power switch.
Stick it on your mirror and press the button to automatically shoot out 18 inches of Oral B's premium dental string.
Well, what's so smart about that?
22 hours after you hit that button, This gadget will automatically light up blue reminding you to floss again.
And if you don't floss within 24 hours, it'll flash a red frownie face.
There's even some kid friendly snap on face plates to help build a healthy habit.
Does it work?
The lights definitely got my attention, and I wound up flossing for a couple weeks Strength.
Just don't expect to use it on a bedroom mirror, the lights were bright enough to wake me up on a weekend.
And be sure you've threaded the machine right or you might lined up in a jam.
At just $40 the Flosstime isn't all that expensive If you want to give it a try.
But know that refills will either be frustrating or pricy.
The company's proprietary cartridges cost $8 each unless you do what I'm affectionately calling the pop and wind.
