Detroit Auto Show 2018
Supersize me! VW's XL Tiguan for AmericansBigger than ever before, Volkswagen debuts a long wheelbase version of the 2018 Tiguan SUV for the US here at the 2017 Detroit auto show.
So it looks like the only version of the Volkswagen Tiguan that will get here in the United States is the supersized version. Right over my shoulder is There is the long-wheeled [UNKNOWN] variant of the second generation of the Volkswagen Sequan, or as we know it here, just the 2800 Sequan. The new model is about four and a half inches longer than the standard wheel base version sold in Europe, and about 10.7 inches longer than the outgoing first-generation model. That extra space gives you a lot more interior volume, so you got about 57% more cargo Room. And space for a third row seat that is optional. Though I don't wanna be the person cramming into that back row. Even without that third row pops up, there's a lot more space on the second row. It slides back and forth about seven inches giving you some flexibility in leg room. And on the front row, we've got the large Volkswagen digital cockpit. It's sort of of Volkswagen's version of Audi's virtual cockpit. A full Configurable instrument cluster. And we've got an eight inch glass infotainment system in the middle. It's got all the Android Auto and Apple Car Play functionality we expect from modern Volkswagen infotainment. This version will be sold in Europe alongside the standard wheelbase as the [UNKNOWN] In all space. And it'll come with an array of gasoline and diesel engines. But on this side of the pond, we don't use that dirty d word anymore. So when it shows up here at the 2018 Volkswagen [UNKNOWN] and late 2017 it'll have a 2-liter turbo charged engine and the options in front and all wheel drive.
