Sony Vaio VGN-NS240E/WThe Sony Vaio VGN-NS240E is a respectable, attractive mainstream budget notebook, but it can't match what the competition is offering for the same price.
>> Josh: Hi, I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor for CNET Reviews and this is the Sony VAIO VGN-NS240E slash W. And that W is for white as you can see it's very white. It's a budget mainstream 15.4 inch laptop that sells for less than $700 and features a decent midrange Intel Dual Core processor. What we liked about this model is that it's attractive, has a big comfortable keyboard and the touchpad is also pretty big and performance is overall good for the system's components which includes 3G of memory, a 250G hard drive and integrated Intel graphics. Our problems with this VIO are less about performance and more about what's missing that other vendors have at this price. For example, if you're planning to connect this to a external display it only has a VGA out while other makers include HDMI or a display port out. There's no Bluetooth and despite having a dedicated button for launching media software there are no separate media control keys outside of a mute button. So in the end it's just a respectable, attractive, mainstream budget Notebook that can't quite match what the competition is offering for the same or similar price. I'm Josh Goldman and that's the Sony VAIO VGN-NS240E slash W. ^E00:01:25
