[ Music ] ^M00:00:02 >> Hi, I'm Jasmine France, Senior Associate Editor for CNET.com and I'm here today with the Editors' Choice award-winning Sony S-Series Walkman. And there's a lot of things to like about this walkman, but we're gonna start off with the design. It's a really sleek and compact design. It's quite slim. It's got a nice bright 2-inch screen on the front. A series of controls here down below the screen on the side, I love it. They included dedicated volume controls. We always like to see that and the noise-cancellation switch. So this is another one of the Sony Walkmans that has the built-in noise-cancelling capability and what you do is you pair it with the included headphones, which are actually very decent headphones and they have this kind of special plug that activates the noise-cancelling capability when you plug it in to the bottom. Now they will work with standard headphones as well, so that's a good thing. It has a couple of integrated smart features. One of them is the Intelligent Shuffle feature and what that does is you can choose it to a Time Machine Shuffle that will pull up a certain year for you and play everything in that year. There's also a new feature called SensMe channels and what that will do is it will analyze the entire database of songs on the device itself and then it places it into a selection of different channels, such as Morning or Energetic and then you can listen to those different channels depending on your mood or you know what time of day I guess. The main menu is organized really nicely. Everything's in an icon format. You can customize it and set your own photos as a backdrop. There's also a variety of themes to choose from which changes the colors of the highlighting and the font. Sony is also implemented a Podcast feature on this walkman. It's the first walkman to really integrate Podcast support. Now this walkman is a little bit pricier than the competition. For the 4-gigabyte version, you're gonna pay 149.99 and for the 8-gigabyte version, you're gonna pay 179.99, but when you consider the fact that you get packaged headphones that are actually decent that probably makes it worth it for most of you. I'm Jasmine France and this has been the Sony S-Series Walkman. ^M00:01:53 [ Music ]
