Skullcandy Smokin' Buds headphones
>> Jasmine France: Nobody has ever accused popular headphone manufacturer Skullcandy of subtlety and for good reason. The company can do everything but fly under the radar. Case and point, these Smokin' Buds earphones. I swear I cannot make this stuff up. Despite the questionable naming question, these earbuds actually offer a couple of compelling feature. For one you get the signature flashy Skullcandy color combos. These come in a startling 22 varieties including the completely appropriate Rasta version and the comparatively bland all black model. Another detail worth calling out is this extra thick clothcoated cable which bodes well for durability over time. Finally, about midway down the left y cable here, you have an integrated mic and call/ answer button for use with music phones such as the iPhone. The praise ends there, however. Neither fit nor sound quality is particularly great for these ear buds. They are still a slight step up from stock in this regard. However, given the $30 price tag and useful extras, you may be willing to overlook those shortcomings. I'm Jasmine France with CNET and this has been a first look at Skullcandy's Smokin' Buds.
