Seeing the original iPhone for the first time
This is Dan McCullagh reporting or CNET from the Macworld show floor in San Francisco.
What we're here today to do is to try to catch a glimpse of the new Apple iPhone.
You can see it's behind glass.
This holy object is surrounded by eager onlookers And we can't actually touch it.
And I consider it very hectic once we're there through crowds, this is supposed to be the third Apple we are going to get today.
In fact in the near future you can see people straining their necks to catch the incidences quality object.
Steve Jobs there introduced it today during the scene of Mac world.
Saying first Apple was going to introduce a new phone, a new iPod, and new internet communicator.
What he ended up doing is saying no, it's an all-in-one product.
It's the iPhone.
It's available in a four, an eight gigabyte configuration.
The four gigabyte It is $499.
And the eight GB is $599.
It has a touch screen interface, no keyboard.
That is an on screen keyboard.
He says it has something like a five hour battery life while in talk or playing video.
It has two orientations.
You can flip it around, it's horizontal, it's vertical.
It has a pretty decent [UNKNOWN] web browser for his type of handheld device.
Apple's a partnership with Cingular.
It's only available with Cingular.
It has a very nice email interface.
It does a graphical html email.
Google and Yahoo are partnered with it.
Their respective officials showed up today at Mac World.
It has a pretty decent, even superior implementation to iTunes.
You sync like you would an iPod, to your iTunes or library.
It has a new headphone, earphone, microphone combination.
Two little earbuds that we're used to, but with Was a microphone and a switch alongside.
Apple is apparently taking orders today but it's not going to ship until June.
This is [INAUDIBLE] reporting for Macworld.
