Today, we're gonna take a first look at the Sanyo Taho.
This is a new phone for Sprint.
It is certified to military specifications for things like temperature, for dust, for salt fog, and you can actually submerge it in water and we're gonna do that, but we will discover the design first.
From the outside, it looks a little retro, got a big speaker grow up here that makes for a loudspeaker phone.
Also, have a monochrome external display.
On the back, you see the camera lens with a flash.
Now, there is a raised area surrounding the camera lens
which is nice because that means when the phone is resting on the table, it's not gonna, you're not gonna scratch the lens as we've seen, it can happen on other phones.
Inside, nice-- nice internal display, pretty standard for a phone like this.
I wish it could be a little bigger, but certainly, it does the job.
It's pretty bright and vibrant.
Keypad and controls are great.
I really, really like this a lot and I think that some of the best I've seen in a midrange [unk] for a long time, and then down below, you have the keypad.
Nice big numbers, big letters as well, they're backlit, they're raised above the surface of the phone, they're separated from each other.
So, I don't have any problems
texting or dialing at all.
Very midrange device as far as features go, megapixel camera, personal organizer, Bluetooth, some PC sync game, everything you need for basic messaging and communication, but I can show you how the phone will go on the water, and so we will drop the phone in.
So now, we are gonna call the phone and see what happens.
The story about the Taho is really its durability and ruggedness.
It cannot take a lot lows and I did really enjoy the feeling on my hand and I loved those user navigation controls and keypad buttons.
