Sanyo SCP-2700 (Sprint)At CTIA 2009, Sanyo unveils the SCP-2700, a budget-priced messaging phone that doesn't skimp on the features.
[ music ] >> I'm Nicole Lee, associate editor for CNET.com, coming to you from CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas. This is a first look at the Sanyo STP2700 from Sprint. As you can see, it is a very simple candy bar messaging phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. The screen is a very simple two inch wide display here. The QWERTY keyboard's very easy to type on, the keys are very raised above the surface here. It has a dedicated text messaging key on the front. On the back is a 1.3 megapixel camera. Features of the phone include text messaging of course, they also have [inaudible] text messaging, you can also get mobile email on here from AOL, G-Mail, Hotmail, and so forth. You can also get your work email on here via Microsoft Exchange Active Sync. It also has GPS, a music player, and stereo Bluetooth. Probably the highlight of this phone is that it will be available only twenty nine ninety nine with a two year service agreement from Sprint, which is probably one of the cheapest messaging phones out there.
