Samsung's HW-MS650 sound bar is compact and feature-richThis large sound bar drops the need for a subwoofer and gives great-sounding music.
The Samsung HW-MS650 is a new type of soundbar which is designed to produce deep bass without a sub woofer. Though there are models out there which can do an even better job, such as the ZVOX SB500, the Samsung nevertheless offers very good sound quality in a single box. Where the Samsung pulls away from competitors, is in the number of features it houses. The MS650 not only offers 4K HD out video in and out over HDMI, but also offers a number of different music streaming options. Soundbar is a part of Samsung's multi room system and can play Pandora, Spotify, or your own music over Wi-Fi in these [UNKNOWN] four speakers. While you can use this soundbar with any TV, it's designed to be used with a recent Samsung. It let's you play the sound from a 2017 TV over Wi-Fi without connecting any cables. It also comes with an onboard power socket which let's you connect the TV. And cuts down on the number of wall sockets you need. Where the Samsung pulls ahead of rivals is in how well it can play music. It sounds clear and natural and the onboard sub goes low enough that baselines and bass drums are still punchy. We would still love the ability to add a sub though. When it comes to home cinema it may not be the most boisterous or or exciting speaker on the market. But it does a decent job of making dialogue intelligible. For $450 or 550 pounds, the Samsung HWMS 650 is a decent soundbar with a lot of features. But true home cinema fanatics might want to look elsewhere.
