Samsung's Ativ Book 9 2014 Edition is a premium 15-inch ultrabook with superb battery life
Most current ultra books packed 14 inch or smaller screens with ultra high resolutions including Samsungs ATIV book 9 plus but with the book 9 2014 edition, Samsung went big on the screen, instead of packing more pixels.
I am Josh Goldman with cnet and this ultrabook has an unusual but unheard of, 15.6 inch display with a 1080 resolution, giving you more room for work and play.
However, unlike most other 15 inches, the body stays relatively light at less than four and a half pounds and it's barely more than a half an inch thick.
It has the aluminium body and sturdy construction of a premium laptop.
That's for sure.
And decent port assortment given the limited spade including a hidden SD card slot.
Though for ethernet and VGA out you'll need dongles, the latter one coming at an extra cost.
The keyboard is big, comfortable and backlit with no flex.
The touchpad is generally excellent, and the screen is very nice too.
Plus, the lower resolution likely contributes to its battery life of more than nine hours in our test.
For its $1,500 price, though, the internals are pretty average, with a core i5 processor, 8 gigs of memory, Intel integrated 4400 graphics.
And 128 gig SSD.
You can get a core I7 version too with a 256 gig SSD but that's $1,900.
You can read the full review on cnet.com but yeah, it's a premium laptop with a matching price tag but if you're looking for something travel friendly with a big screen and superb battery life.
You'll wanna grab this.
I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Samsung Ativ Book 9 2014 edition.
