Samsung pulled off a legal victory against Apple in the US supreme court.
The court overturned a ruling that would require Samsung to pay Apple roughly $400 million in damages, due to design patent infringement.
That amount of damages was decided because it is the amount of the entire profits of the infringing device.
The Supreme Court said juries do not need to award damages based on entire products, but did not specify how to come up with damages.
The case will continue in lower courts.
More Samsung news, the company says it will send an update to US Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones that will make the phone unusable.
The update will turn off the ability to charge the phone The Note 7 was recalled after a design flaw led to the device bursting into flames.
Samsung said that 93% of US sold Note 7 units were returned.
FitBit announced it is acquiring fellow wearable company, Pebble.
The deal includes personnel, and intellectual property, but not hardware.
Pebble says it will refund unfulfilled Kickstarter pledges for its Time Round, Time 2, and Core products, which are all now officially cancelled.
Amazon showed off a demo video of its grocery store of the future, called Amazon Go.
The goal of Amazon Go is to remove the checkout procedure.
In the video, a person walks in, scans their phone, then proceeds to take items off the shelves and into their shopping basket.
Amazon says this technology can track what is being taken and by whom using computer vision and machine learning.
The Amazon Go store is being tested right now in Seattle with a public opening in 2017.
