-I'm Kent German, senior editor for cnet.com. Today, we're gonna take a first look at the Samsung M360. This is a new phone for Sprint. It's real name is the SPH-M360 but we will just call it M360 just to make it shorter. This is a pretty basic phone. It's really made for making calls, taking some photos but it really succeed to that job. It does really what a phone should do. I like the call quality. It's very easy to use. Very simple design. So if you're looking for a phone that you just wanna make calls, you just wanna send some text, maybe want a couple extra features like voice dialing, this is definitely a phone you should look at. On the whole, it is a very simple design. As I said, just some really clean lines. It has a nice blue color here on the front. It contrasts nicely with the black. On the front, we do have the normal external display. It does have color so it will work as a viewfinder for the camera lens. It sits just above. It shows the date, time, battery life, all other information you'd expect. On this side, you have a volume rocker. It's pretty big, so I didn't have any trouble finding it when I was on a call. And over on this side, you'll see the micro-USB port that's for the charger. You will see a 3.5-mm headset jack so it's nice that they separate these two. Typically, on a basic phone they don't always do that, so it's nice to see that here. Open up the phone, have a very nice design inside as far as simplicity goes. Again, this isn't a fancy device. It doesn't have a lot of style to it, but it's very easy to use. I really like this navigation controls and keypad raised above the surface of the phone, very spacious, very comfortable. They felt nice beneath my finger. I could dial. I could text quickly. I didn't have any problems. I can even do some dialing by feel. It have the diamond-shaped four way toggle here with an okay button in the middle, 2 really big soft keys, talk and end power buttons, and the back key. Down below, we have those keypad buttons that are slightly raised above the surface of the phone. So you do get some definition when you're dialing which is nice. The numbers on the buttons are somewhat big, so if you have visual impairment, you wanna test out this phone first. But I found them pretty big and the keys are nicely backlit. Inside the phone, not a lot going on but it does have a 1.3-megapixel camera, not the best but it does the job. It doesn't record video. It does have Bluetooth. It does have voice activated dialing which works pretty well. It is speaker independent. It also had the speakerphone. It gets pretty loud. Audio is a little distorted at the highest levels, but we'd expect that. And of course, they have some personalization options and a personal organizer. So M360 really a phone for making calls. It is very easy to use. I'm Kent German and this is Samsung M360.
