Samsung Galaxy Note 7: CNET Editors reactSamsung's new Note packs underwater doodling powers, a curved-edge display and iris scanning tech. Direct from the London launch, CNET's Kent German and Luke Westaway offer their first impressions.
[INAUDIBLE] here from CNET, I'm here with Kent German. Hello [INAUDIBLE] with the Galaxy Note Seven. All right, I like that. So, Ken, what are you initial thoughts? Initial thoughts. I really like it. It's very nice design. It's very slim. I really like this cool blue color on the back. Really love the wraparound screen. So that's something they brought out in the S7 Edge. On the S Pen. Really like the ability to be able to write with the S Pen underwater. Pretty cool feature. And, Luke, I know you're probably excited about the pen and all. [CROSSTALK] Yeah. That's right. You're. Gonna be able to take a few seconds of a YouTube video and turn that into a GIF very quickly, which to me just sounds like an absolute dream. Well, I have to say for me, I'm all about the design of this thing. And that's because from my point of view, the Note line has always been the sort of weird, bigger, quirkier, more experimental cousin to the Galaxy S, the flagship. And the Galaxy S is where Samsung has put all the real design effort. But this one It seems really lovely [INAUDIBLE] it's got that curved screen. It feels like a much more complete, more lovingly built smartphone than it's previously outfitted in the past so I'm excited about the 9 personally. [INAUDIBLE] what's interesting [INAUDIBLE] it has that [INAUDIBLE] system. Really [INAUDIBLE] for that S7s. What's interesting though is How much Samsung is going to charge for this over the S7 Edge? The S-Band Brings a lot of cool features, but is it going to be a couple hundred dollars, a couple hundred pounds? It could be more than that. Are people really gonna pay for that S-band, or they're going to say hey there are so many great features on the S7 Edge, it's a little cheaper and lose a little bit, so I'm just gonna stick with that. So price sensitivity will Yeah, there are so many really good budget Android smartphones out there at the moment. I mean, this one feels really powerful and seems very mature. But I'm getting really expensive vibes from it, sort of radiating waves of power. [CROSSTALK] Yeah, so I mean the discount is worth it. But who knows? You'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned for the full review. Thank you from CNet.
