>> Have you decided to make the switch over to a Mac but you're lost without your Windows keyboard shortcuts? I'm Veronica Belmont and I'm going to show you some quick tips for using Mac shortcut keys. All right let's start with the really basic stuff. We're going to mostly focus on the command key sometimes known as the Apple key and then the all option key, right here. A lot of shortcuts are similar to those in Windows but using the command key instead of the control key on a PC. For example command O, open, command X means cut, command C means copy and so on. And there are at least two main ways you can delete a file from the desktop. You can either drag it into the trashcan or you can hit command delete. They keyboard shortcut will save you valuable nanoseconds or something. If you're in an application, you can close the window by using command W or to close the entire application use command Q. Command Q comes in handy during the next trick, switching between open applications. OS 10 has a nice feature where you can use command tab to switch between open applications. And if you use command Q while you're tabbing through those applications you can quickly close down a bunch of apps that are open without going to each window. And finally if you want to minimize a window to the dock, use command M. To simply hide the window you can use command H. I hope this helps you make your switch a little easier. I'm Veronica Belmont thanks for watching this quick tip.
